It’ll be interesting to see if Trump can get some of the Japanese prisoners back as a show of good faith

Why would he worry about an “invasion” unless he is planning on starting something?

Their mountain cave-in has set them back considerably, so they need something new and dramatic in order to play for more time to rebuild, perhaps even a couple of decades.

that’s probably why they’re pulling, this time.

North Korea isn’t the only Kim it’s also a Cadre of generals.

who really thinks if young Kim completely discarded their nuclear program that he could survive a coup from the generals..?

More bullcrap.

He cannot be trusted.
Neither can anyone in the Kim Dynasty—unbroken for 70 years and spillers
of millions of gallons of American soldiers’ blood —notably 1950-1953.

Signing ANY document, including a peace treaty, means NOTHING to them.

The US vital interest here is preventing North Korea from having the capability of nuking us. Secondary but still important interests include preventing them from invading the south or nuking anyone else. We need to resist the inevitable Neocon claim that we have a vital interest in removing Rocket Man from power. We don’t

Hey Kim,

First, YOU promise no aggression against your neighbors.

It was another dramatically conciliatory statement by Mr. Kim, whose country threatened to do exactly those things during the height of nuclear tensions last year.

Wait, wait, wait! This is from the NYT. Didn't they tell us it was President Trump doing the threatening last year?

I’ve been dwelling on this; it was inevitable.

For a guy whose family embraced a self-destructive ideology which made subjects of its citizens, invaded its neighbor, was responsible for perhaps millions of deaths between the war and domestic actions, engaged an international criminal enterprise on an unprecedented scale, built weapons of mass destruction and threatening others with use thereof while collaborating with & arming our enemies...

...the potential for being further elevated from supreme leader to peacemaker while being afforded guarantees sure to enrich your family beyond most people’s wildest dreams and shoulder the burden of cleaning up his messes upon the rest of the world is a pretty sweet deal.

The ultimate con. True human behavior on display. Iran will not be so easy...

How about some what ifs?
What if Kim fears that Trump really would take him out?
What if Kim never wanted Nukes himself but was a testing ground for Iran to develop Nukes, and Iran paid well?
What if all the testing has been done and workable nukes have been made, with Iran gaining the knowledge to make them?
What next?

Call me crazy but:
1) China hates the new tariffs
2) Tells Kim to make nice with us
3) here we are

We promise not to invade if you promise to behave yourself, feed your people and try to improve their lives.

“Kim Says He’ll Give Up Weapons if U.S. Promises Not to Invade”

Sure sounds like Kim’s surrendering to the US can not be soon enough in his book....even more so than Obama’s surrendering to Iran with his agreement to let them have nukes and provide them 150 billion to build and deliver them. Quite a feat.

OK, we promise not to invade, but if we catch you cheating, we will cook your ass to cinders.

I think if being awarded the Nobel peace prize gives one the incentive to commit to a war soon thereafter with a nation in which we have absolutely no vital national security interest like Libya, President Trump might want to consider pulling a Marlon Brando and send Princess Littlefeather to Norway to decline the Nobel oscar on his behalf.

Kim was also making conciliatory statements about relations with Japan. I’m hoping that Trump can go there, and close the deal. It would be fun to see the meltdown on CNN, MSNBC, etc., if that were to happen.
