Trump has read Art of War. When you’re strong, look like you’re weak. So, Trump is playing nice. He’s trying to get Mueller to overreach and give him every chance to make a mistake.
So if Trump gets a subpoena, Trump will say maybe, or we’ll see. He should slow walk any response just like DOJ has. In the end, Trump won’t comply and he’ll send it up to SC.
Now that Trump had said he is willing to respond in writing, it will be very hard for Mueller to make the case to the SC that Trump is not cooperative especially since he is not officially the target.

Headline is click bait; Mueller apparently has said “no” to written questions, but NOT the inflammatory “*I* will decide when and how!”. The article also assumes as fact, that Trump MUST allow Mueller to “interview” him, which he does NOT!
