Idiots don’t realize that giving companies tax credits to companies that voluntarily help the homelesd would probably yield better results and probably at lesser costs.
Government is inherently bad at management and altruism.

I lived for a year in Tacoma (1980s).
Olympia is the capital and like a collection of intellectual hippies. Even in that time-period, I’d say that forty-percent of the adults were regular daily smokers of weed.
Tacoma was some working-class town, existing off the Army and Air Force installations, and was the ‘little brother’ of Seattle. Highly unionized would be the term for the town, but not a bad place. What I liked was the weather...never hot or extremely cold...probably two hundred days a year of misty rain for an hour or two per day.

Helping/housing the homeless will guarantee you’ll have more of them.
Putting out unlimited feed for the birds will assure that you will need a frontend loader to scoop the bird*hit off your deck!

Tacoma promises more of the same leftist lunacy, drowning some in failed policies while others scramble to shore and run away.
Will it work?

My grandfather was the 2nd to the last person to drive a car on that bridge while it was “galloping”. The other one was in the middle and had to run for his (and his little dog’s) life.
I’ve gone scuba diving underneath it. Concrete blocks the size of a house. Great place for octopus hunting. Or watching.
‘Course that was more than a few years ago. LOL
