My Mother’s family came to the UI.S. in the 1700s from the Scottish Island of Colonsay.

I sometimes read their newsletter. Until recently there had never been a serious crime committed on the island. Someone stole several hundred dollars from a vacation cottage.

Yep, it turned out to be a laborer from the mainland. I guess diversity was not their strength.

I suspect that it’s documented somewhere that the more homogeneous the population, the lower the murder rate. This article might have more bearing if they had discussed demographics, drug use and overall crime statistics.
