For that you don’t close down a whole show, especially not the revival of a classic and a hit that’s making you money. The punishment is excessive and hurts too many people. Dock Roseanne a week’s pay, which is probably in the area of six figures. But the show must go on.
No, she isn’t quite a libtard, either. But she’s also not a conservative. I never watched for the politics. It was just a great sitcom, talented cast, great scripts, except for Season 9. The revival was even better.

In 2013, Trump was just a rich guy with orange hair. He had substance to him regardless of what Maher said. The visceral hatred of him wasn’t universal among the swamp denizens. So, nobody even noticed Maher’s nasty tirade. ValJar was nobody until she started servicing the First Family in whatever capacity. After she left, she became nobody again. So a nasty crack about her was an attack on all that she was, and someone just had to have a hissy fit.
Trump has already started speaking about his conservative positions.... a year and a half later he would announce his run for office.
This level of hatred was NOT because Trump had money - it was because he was conservative.

You’d have to define the term loosely for him to qualify. He’s not a populist either, nor a protectionist. His brand of conservatism is plowing through uncharted waters. He wants tax cuts and he’s pro-life. But he also rejects NAFTA, which was the work product of Reagan through Clinton, and he’s tough on China, which nobody has ever been, and back in the day he wanted a one-time ‘wealth tax’ to pay off the national debt.
