She was more than likely pandering to the religious fringe who think that women should wear “dresses” that are a head covering short of a full blown burqa.

Porn has been around in one form or another for a long time, but the uptick in school violence is directly tied to the introduction of violent video games in the early to mid 90’s. The game Mortal Kombat (which is banned in some countries due to it’s excessive violence) came out in October 1992. And the first major school mass shooting was Columbine 6 1/2 years later.

Are any Democrats running for governor, or does the Republican nominee win by default?

Real immigration reform cannot be achieved without a secure border – @realDonaldTrump has been clear about this since day one. Today I introduced the #BorderWallTrustFundAct which would allow public donations to #BuildtheWall. Let's get it done! https://t.co/CWJDEQbxo2

Instead of Diane’s idea of setting up a GoFundMe page, how about our government spend money they have already taken from us and spend it in accordance with constitutionally enumerated powers - which would include securing our borders.

As past chair of the House Budget Committee - a position that cost millions to buy - Black was in a prime leadership position to advocate for constitutional government spending. She repeatedly failed to do so even as she leveraged her position to increase her and her husband’s personal net worth. Sorry, but Black’s equivalent of the Labor Day Build-A-Wall Telethon smacks of insincerity.

Number people running for gov in Tennessee put Maine to shame. Maine gets 20 plus in an open year, most who fade way. Currently have 13 which will whittle down to 4 next week.

Candidate list (34)

Of the 3 dems only Craig has a webpage and it does not have much on it. Med Facebook lists 30 followers. Most campaigns have 30 opposition operatives following them.

The Republican field does not look much stronger.
Basil is a nut job who wants to move the Tennesee border to the Mississippi line.

Democratic
former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean
state Representative Craig Fitzhugh
Mezianne Vale Payne

Republican
Congresswoman Diane Lynn Black
Randy Boyd
state Representative Beth Harwell
Bill Lee
Basil J. Marceaux, Sr.
Kay White

Independent; (Libertarian)
Sherry L. Clark
Justin Cornett
Gabriel Fancher
Sean Bruce Fleming
William Andrew “Andrew” Helmstetter
Cory King
Matthew Koch
Alfred Shawn Rapoza
Vinnie Vineyard
Jeremy Allen Stephenson
Tracy C. Yaste Tisdale
Mike Toews

Independents
Mark “Coonrippy” Brown
Tommy Ray McAnally
Jessie D. McDonald
Toney Randall Mitchell
Yvonne Neubert
Chad Riden
Robert Sawyers, Sr.
Heather Scott
George Blackwell Smith, IV
Rick Tyler Also running for House CD 3
Patrick Whitlock
Joe B. Wilmoth
Mark Wright

Can someone here tell us whether all 12 libertarians and 13 independents will be on the November ballot (assuming they continue running)?

I dont trust this source at all. There is no contact information, no information about who writes there, supports it, owns it, etc. Nothing. It looks to me like it is dedicated solely to one thing—Diane Black bashing.
Sorry, until I see some contact information, the writer’s information and who owns this blog, it is “Fake News”

In answer to your question, yes, all of those who qualified will be on the ballot.

As for who actually has a chance, for the GOP, at present it Black and Boyd are polling highest and have the most money. Harwell could pull some of the RINO vote from Boyd. If Black becomes more toxic, Lee could pick up the conservative bloc. The primary reason conservatives give for supporting Black is she is rich and they think her money can defeat La Raza Randy Boyd.

As for the Dems, most think Karl Dean will prevail.

The only way a Dem wins in November is if the GOP vote is splintered. If Boyd wins the primary, true conservatives will likely not vote for him in the general. If Boyd loses to Black, the Haslam wing of the party may work to sabotage her in the general (Black hates Haslam). Harwell has no realistic chance. If Lee wins, he is seen as a nice guy and could consolidate the GOP.

HR 4760 does reflect Trump’s agenda, with one exception.

It does not include funding for the border wall and he said he would not sign unless that was included.

Do any of the independents have the ability / juice to win?

Move the Tennessee border to the Mississippi line? What am I missing? Tennessee already shares a border with the state of Mississippi. Is there a DMZ along the border?

>> It does not include funding for the border wall and he said he would not sign unless that was included. <<

Not true. There are appropriatios bills, and there are authorization bills. This is an authorization bill. Wall funding is an appropriations issue. (Mind you, with stronger support from the entirety of the Republican Party, a smart Speaker could figure out how to word the authorization bill to free up presidential spending discretion a little.)

The President supports HR 4760, and the Cotton Bill, neither of which contains wall funding.

This Bill was back in January. Many conservatives voted fore it. Read the Bill. It says zip about amnesty. This looks like a hit piece.

I’m not far away, in Choto Estates, so far avoiding the jurisdiction of any local government. Looks like I set off a good debate. All in all, I’m now leaning toward Diane Black.

When Black was a State Critter, she voted for a bill that made it easy
for illegals to get drivers license’s. RINO Haslem signed it into law.
You are right about the national bill. Wrong about the state bill.

Then we can all sit home and let the ILLEGAL HUGER, GUN GRABBER BOYD win by default. This election comes down to Black and Boyd. Harwell is to well known for her role in the Progressive Gas Tax Hike. Who the heck is Lee besides the TV ads we see. What are his goals to gut government spending, and the illegal aliens in TN?

Personal opinion I don’t like any of them who are running for governor.

I’ve already read Kustoff the riot act over his 1 Sided FAKE OPIOID issue and his ties into meetings with Pig Pharma, Medtronics, and Doctors who are not patient friendly. NO PATIENT or VETERAN INPUT to balance it out.

My Gastro is 1 of the best in Memphis and has testified to CDC to the damage that restricting him to 7 days pain meds for major GI surgeries is not working.

The article started out by referring to the House Bill. I read that Bill and do not like it, but; it has no amnesty in it. I believe Black is the best option. Is she my ideal candidate-NO.

When one supports a bill that was eventually signed into law by the Gov,
it may not be amnesty, but it made it easier for illegals in TN to get
drivers license. It is sad that she may be the best available option.

I recall those Muslims getting DL’s around Memphis before 9/11. I could not believe how stupid it was. Was that when she was in the TN GOV? All these Muslims started coming here about Bush SR’s time.
