Yep. When my husband and I decided to come to the USA from Britain in the 80’s, I had to sponsor him. I had to sign a paper saying that he wouldn’t become a dependent of the American taxpayer (paraphrased). My M-i-L was worried that he wouldn’t get a job (because the foreign Press has always disparaged the USA and people believe what their Media tells them about us). I told her not to worry, he would be able to get a job. I told her ‘anyone in the USA who wants to work can get a job’. I WISH immigrants still had to get a sponsor. I am curious. When did it change??

Which is why the Democrats want more immigration. Helps them get votes.

They still do sponsors. It’s just that no one in the welfare departments pay attention to it. I was an eligibility worker for our county welfare department and quit over 30 years ago. We didn’t pay attention to it then.

That’s why we pay taxes. To feed people who aren’t supposed to be here.

Just stop giving them any welfare at all.......

they certainly seemed to have survived in the countries

they come from who do not offer welfare.....

I've yet to see any starving or poorly dressed aliens, just the opposite.

And here's those from the recent caravan

And these people Paid $4000. to be classified refugees...

And these boat people threatened 'mutiny' of the ship if they weren't given

passage to a country after Italy rejected the boat docking.

It you automatically qualify it’s hard to say no. Ditto with the Child Tax Credit.

Understand how this relates to the continued prevalence of American social norms. Contrast this with what Jefferson explained on the subject in 1782. The continuity of our values is a very real issue.

....”The continuity of our values is a very real issue”...

You are so correct! Take a look a Europe if there’s any question.

I was just reading articles on the 600 plus boat people Italy had refused...who ‘threatened mutiny’ of the boat once they learned they were refused in Italy and malta. Of course we wont’ hear about that aspect of their ‘culture’. They couldn’t stand 3 days at sea being provided for...it ‘was hot’... meanwhile they were ‘dancing’ on the decks!

Those same mindsets to get what they demand..or else..is now happening all over where ever they’re denied their demands. Africans , muslims, mexicans are all making demands and there in is the difference between what was once long ago called true refugees....grateful to be free and made no demands.

Curious... Are you saying (some?) qualifiers should refuse the Child Tax Credit?

Do you know anyone who did?

of the 22 million non-citizens in the country, 10.3 million are one at least welfare program.

Deport them all.

Not at all.

Do you know anyone who did?

Nope nor do I know of anyone who volunteered to pay more taxes than he "owed" in order to help pay down the debt.
