Have you ever had a DOD steak? Troops in the field get steak once in a while. It is a nice gesture there too, but it ain’t Waygu or Kobe I can attest. Thin, and about as tough as a boot. I suspect, but don’t know for certain, that these 534 steaks or how many are a “cut above”. Good move on the President’s part.
The press could give more trouble if they _did_ go through with it? What’s nice too, he is undoubtedly the kind of guy that will follow up on this and make sure those steaks actually get fed to the patients, caregivers and staff. I’m sure the sides are top drawer too, and dessert and the rest of it.

People have a strong, very visceral reaction to something and then can’t back down or shift gears. Pride mainly. In fact, when Trump was coming down the escalator that fine day I laughd, thinking “This buffoon”? I was expecting a lame attempt at imitating McCain or YEB! Half way through his speech I shifted gears and said “This guy could win!” The never Trumpets simply weren’t angry enough to overcome their pride.
Never, but had some tube steaks, and lots of SPAM on active duty.
In a USAR unit I was in, the menu for a Christmas lunch next drill had Steak listed. Some time between the supply delivery and the drill the steak all disappeared from the locked refrigerator, in the locked mess hall, in the locked building, inside the fenced and locked compound.
Did I mention that USAR unit was in Detroit?
Of course CID did investigate but we were informed that the case was never solved . We did have a new E-5 Mess Sgt the next drill. Never saw the old E-6 Mess Sgt again.
