I was a big fan of the Mass Effect RPG series. Interesting characters and intriguing story line. Then they went total SJW PC crap in Mass Effect:Andromeda.
Managed to get my money back on that one. What a dumpster fire of a game.
They have an opportunity to right themselves and keep the franchise alive. But no one wants to see politics in an entertainment movie like Star Wars. So they better figure that out soon.
For that kind of money I want the best Romulan brandy served by nubile and willing green Orion slave girls.
It hasnt been greed that damaged the Star Wars brand...
Its been basically the eff you its done to the franchise, and its fan base... particularly with The Last Jedi...
There was a lot executionally wrong with it, but its biggest issue wast a pointless needless subplot to deliver some pc message, or even the making of Luke cynical.. or even the women griping about mansplaining...
Those were all bad, And not needed... and definitely pissed off a good bit of the audience.... but the biggest issue, is they too Star Wars which in the films anyway has always been good vs evil, no shades of grey relegation nonsense... and turned star wars into it... that as much of not more than anything else permanently damaged the brand.
Who knoew?
Loved those books on audio, was surprised at the likeness of Dejau Thoris being about right, though I thought they downplayed John Carter’s abilities a bit.
Well the issue with that is that while Disney wants to vacuum the money out of fans' wallets, the creators of the movies and the comics and the books have all been going off on unhinged tirades about how much they loathe the fans. And it's not going unnoticed. Goodwill between disney and the superfans is at a very low ebb right now.
Love the Barsoom books.
Was somewhat disappointed in “John Carter” With all the CGI you’d think they could have shown the verdant Barsoomian landscape more faithfully. As is the movie looked like it was filmed at Lake Mead.
And Dejah Thoris is supposed to be “incomparable”. The actress they cast looked like they hired her off the catering truck.
I dont believe it.
They came out and said Solo was doing fine. :)
I haven’t been a fan of the franchise since Empire Strikes Back but this piece’s schadenfreude about Disney’s bad investment seems somewhat unfair and misguided. The article makes a big stink about the fact that Disney dropped $4 billion on the franchise and has maybe recouped $2.25 billion. Huh. In about 5.7 years. That works out to about a 9.8% annual return on $4 billion. In what world is 9.8% a terrible return? Okay, it’s underperformed the S&P 500 over the same period by a couple percentage points, but it’s still pretty decent.
This is also the most successful Disney year ever in the history of the box office - year to date. Disney has already announced they are writing off $50 million on the Solo movie - not good, but not the complete disaster, either. Breitbart tends to get a bit dramatic when it comes to Disney.
Wonder Woman should have had big breasts.
Solo was a lot better than The Last Jedi. I’m sorry it failed. But have to say, I’m a SW junkie from way back and I don’t intend to see another SW movie...unless they did a Solo sequel, which won’t happen now.
Gal whatshername doesn't hold a candle to the REAL Wonder Woman....Linda Carter. yum
Well, the U.S. flag coloring on Captain America's suit, in Cap movies and The Avengers, is now gone, replaced by a boring black and gray.
There are only 3 star wars movies. There will never ever be more than these 2 star wars movies. Everything else called a “star wars” movie, is a bad facsimile. There is no point in ever making another stat wars movie, because the only 3 true star wars movies in existence can’t be added to. In theory they could. In practice it is proving that they cannot. Not even close.
A perfect summation.
