It's changed a lot. The "nightlife" in the 80's moved down into the Flats, next to the river. Then that went downhill in the late 90's and early 2000's. But the downtown has had a genuine revival in the past few years and is clean and hopping. Amazing, really.

If this "plot" to reenact what happened at the Boston Marathon at the 4th of July Parade had come off it would have hurt and probably killed quite a few people. The fact that Trump was nominated and got a boost from a hugely successful 2016 convention in Cleveland may or may not be coincidental. Either way, the alleged plotter seems to be one of the "Amish" converts to the Religion of Pieces.
