Lowering the flag for every mass shooting is ridiculous. This is escpecially true if it happens in a state or location where the people cannot defend themselves properly.

You lower the flags for military, police, and other people who love their country. For journalists, you use their newspapers for dog training.

No where in the flag code does it say to lower it for journalists. POTUS does have the option but isn’t required to do so.
