Survivability on a modern battlefield be it on land, sea or air against a technologically sophisticated opponent is not long. Big capital surface ships are particularly vulnerable.

Armor is still necessary, but the anti-tank missiles and rockets available today render them highly vulnerable.

Rommel perfected this in 1941-2. The more things change the more they stay the same.

The Stryker. Bill Murray drove one of those. No, that was the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle.

I was gonna ask, why don’t we just use the German 88mm any more.

This vehicle uses an integrated weapons platform produced by Leonardo DRS, a fine Italian defense technology company.

We need the new Italian government to finally provide their proper 2% share of GDP on defense spending, which is now only 1.1%.

I had my doubts, initially, about the Bradley, but it has evolved into one hell of a platform.

The Yanks are getting too close. Lower this 88mm and fire for effect.

I was gonna ask, why dont we just use the German 88mm any more. Because modern artillery is far deadlier and more effective.

This is a good, badly-needed idea. Our anti-air capabilities at the tactical level are....not so great. We’ve depended solely on air dominance for a long time, and there’s no guarantee of that in any future conflict.
To: Conan the Librarian
Because it can’t penetrate modern armor.
