The things are a commercial disaster. I was living in San Francisco for a Democratic convention in the 1980s. It shoved all other business out of the city while providing little business itself. It was almost impossible to find a seat at a restaurant for dinner - because they all closed for lack of business.

It's counterintuitive, but it's a fact.

“Have the pub convention in Green Bay.”

Great idea. More than enough hotels and restaurants between Appleton WI and Iron Mountain MI to handle a Republican convention. The convention could be held at the Packer’s facilities. Green Bay would love it. Plus GB isn’t infested with left wing weenies.

Say, don’t we know somebody with a string of opulent hotels and millions of dollars? With a few challenges to overcome, the GOP could hold their convention on a Trump property and pay Trump for the convention hall and the lodging.

Democrats would explode but is there any place that says you can’t do that?

As a bonus, Trump can have a security team comb it for listening devices the night before the convention starts.

Cleveland had a real good reason to want to host that RNC in 2016. That was to improve the city’s image. So, yeah, it was a headache. But for Cleveland, showing that they could do it successfully was definitely worth it.

Boise, ID?

University town, but heavily Mormon. Intermolecular Airport for fly-in conventioneers. Hotels enough that if they book up the whole city and surrounding ‘urbs every property owner will make bank. BSU arena seats over 18,000 last I knew. Students might protest, but the place is MILES from any major urban source of cheap antifa rent-a-mob types.
