I hear that my rep...who doesn’t represent my concerns here in NH, is backing this horseshit bill!
Great idea!
Being that I live on the other side of the country I encourage CA to be the test lab for all these great progressive ideas.
We can learn from their experiences.

No one ever accused any leftist of being smart. Insane, overly emotional, dumb as a box of rocks, mentally deranged and incompetent, yes, but never smart.
It really should be a law that no leftist ever be allowed to run for office. They are simply not equipped to handle any management position at any level. Not even head dog catcher or porta potti cleaner. Lower levels, no problem, but never in a position of authority.

Had a run down area in the San Fernando Valley, area of Los Angeles.
The Hispanics had taken over the community. It was run down with some homes still kept up to the standards of years gone buy.
There as a lot of foot traffic, and it would make a normal White guy nervous to be there without a great reason/connection. The wrought iron bars protected from unwanted window and door entry at all times.
I learned that these properties were worth over $500k. They may now be worth over $600k.
LOL
Didn’t California ban building houses because of Global Warming ? LOL
Yeah...and in the NYC metro area. Operating multi-family properties just makes you a slave of the tenants; you have few rights compared to theirs.

The median home price in the entire San Francisco Bay Area has topped $820,000. It has topped $600,000 statewide, which is amazing given that those statistics include downtrodden and rural markets.
So if they successfully encourage more building, and the law of supply and demand kicks in and prices go down, what happens to all the median price home owners who still owe $500,000 on their median price $600,000 home that is now worth $400,000? They're stuck.
“They’re stuck. “

Yep,that’s the way it is.

Kamala Harris
Does that translate to — Hairy Camel ?
But then the government will build housing for everybody and it will be FREE! Yay!
I mean, that will work, right...? :)
“new legislation that would give renters a federal tax credit. “
How would that compare to the tax credits for mortgage interest on homes?
As you can see from my Freep page, I have always held Thomas Sowell in high esteem, and his book “Basic Economics-A Citizen’s Guide to The Economy” talks at length about things like rent control in many locations and the effect it has on housing costs.
Of course, in looking to see how much of California is impacted by rent control, I saw that in November, there is going to be a ballot question to repeal a law called the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act, which prohibits localities in California from passing new Rent Control laws.
They want to repeal it.
I have a lot of sympathy for conservatives in California, because it clearly seems that the tipping point (people with hands out for money vs. people who pay into the system) has long since been passed. I have zero doubt it will repeal the law, and new rent control laws are going to spring up like weeds.
And people won’t be able to find housing.
Unbelievable.
Not the solution, the result.
Thanks Robert A Cook PE.

Rent control is a Communist idea. You should be able to charge what the market will bear. If you can charge $2500 for a 6 br/ 4 bath house you should.
I did not think it was even possible to be even more stupid than Barbara Boxer, but Harris has convinced me.........................
