HAHAHA We can impose Tariffs on $750 Billion worth Chinese imports. China can retaliate with Tariffs on $250 Billion MAXIMUM because that is how much we sell to China.
Chinese have never experienced a NY real estate tycoon to deal with before, who plays hardball, versus globalists like Obama, Bushes, Clinton etc.

Yes except how do you think the mess happened to begin with?
By people SELLING OUT AMERICA.
Those same people are still out there. All of them.
Trump is going about this right, but there are a whole heck of completely sold out people out there.
A mess of them.

Nutballs will say, But Americans will have to pay this tax, not China!
Of course, they love that you pay much more as income tax, knowing full well Americans have to pay income tax FOR THE PRIVILEDGE OF EARNING REPORTABLE INCOME.
Tariffs penalize foreign good buying. Income taxes penalize productive work habits.
Which is healthier?

China has already lost this war - they just need to be driven to their knees before they admit it...

China will lose this fight.
We export very little, compared to what we import from China.

Maybe China won’t win, but there’s no chance to lose.

Thank Bill & Hillary for getting the USA addicted to the cheap Chinese goods (Hillary was on the Board of Directors of Walmart prior to Bill’s election as president.)
Thus all the illegal campaign contributions to Bill by Charlie Trie and all the Chinese Nationalists.

China won’t lose.
Musk knows it.
China has EU, Russia, the middle east, Africa, south America.....
And China will win in the long term.

It's all bluster, on both sides. Trump wants tariffs GONE. They have them, we do not.
(And if tariffs are so horrible, why do they have them, and are desperate to keep them??)
Threatening to start using tariffs (and occasionally having to actually initiate a few for a while to back it up) is simply a way to convince the others to finally drop their tariffs, benefitting everyone... particularly American exporters, and foreign consumers.
It's hard to believe, but Trump found yet another massive negotiation win... and may even have more in his back pocket. Where did this guy come from???

The only thing that will make a difference is if Americans buy American goods. Finding them is the problem.

A rational determination can not be made on generalities. To make a valid conclusion the specific Harmonized Tariff numbers to be tariffed must be published.

Nobody needs an unending list of 13-14 digit numbers to make a decision on this. Nobody needs to go tariff-by-tariff, debating the Good and the Bad.
