They call it a threat. We call it advance notice.

Fund the wall or shut it all down!

The GOP leadership will now, out of seemingly nowhere, grow a spine when it comes to opposing the President. Controlled opposition.

He’s willing to “own” the shutdown, way out in front saying it will be intentional and for a specific reason: to get the wall built. So if it happens, congress will blame Trump, and Trump will ask the people which is more important. He will also correctly say that only Congress can authorize spending and gee whiz, they don’t agree with you about what is important.

Remember the last shutdown, when Ted Cruz shut down the government in an ultimately unsuccessful effort to defund Obamacare.

Remember teh warnigns about how disastrous it would be? The Republicans had lost any chance to take over the Senate and might well lose the House, according to teh “experts.” Remember?

What happened the next year,2014? Republicans gained 9 Senate seats, taking over the majority. They gained 13 House seats. They gained governorships and state legislative seats.

All of which was exactly the opposite of what the media and the GOPe told us would happen.

Thanks, Ted. And Donald — please remember this when the “leadership” starts complaining about a shutdown. If you need to shut it down, shut it down. I have a feeling it will be like the last one.

I distinctly recall The President warning ALL when he signed the budget last time. Apparently Paul Ryno thought he was bluffing, and Mitchie was probably into happy hour.

Trump is THE GOP LEADER.
He hasn’t warned himself.
Fake news.

Warnings from whom? Paul Ryan, who gets his orders from his multimillionaire, democrat wife?

President Trump did not get where he is by taking advice from losers.

I saw this in action many, many years ago, during my bar review class. Invariably, at any given bar review class, there will be repeat offenders, ie people who took the exam and flunked. They have now sobered up, shored up their shaky self esteem and are prepping to do it again

It never failed, every break, mobs would gather around the repeaters. Everyone had questions about the exam. And those guys had answers. They knew everything you had to do to pass the bar.

It struck me as one of the stupidest things I had ever seen. You want to pass the exam on the first try, so naturally, you seek the wise counsel of those who failed?

The GOP’s fear of success is pathological.

I don’t think they’re that stupid. All I can assume is that 90% of them are hopelessly corrupt. Did you see the clip of The Turtle just casually dismissing any notion that they might actually, you know, fund the wall and stop our country from being invaded - as if that was slightly less important than whether he has a bacon egg and cheese biscuit or scrambled eggs for breakfast?

What a complete douchebag.

You misread the GOP. Success for the GOP is obstructing the MAGA agenda and keeping their big donors happy.

If Trump actually does this, (and I really hope he does) he will probably win every house seat there is from everywhere except New York and California.

"Republican leaders acknowledge that reality and are working closely with Democrats to pass spending bills quickly to avoid a confrontation with Trump ahead of the November midterm elections."

Who are the chickensheets now? PDJT has them on the run...

“I think Trumps list of non essential employees will be interesting...........................”

It won’t include Veteran Affairs and national security employees, or even national parks, like Barry Soetoro’s definition of nonessential.

Stick to your guns, Mr. President.

I know essential services will continue so I’m trying to figure out why this would be a bad thing.

President Trump and his people crossing the DC Swamp festering with Rats politicians and phoney GOP leaders, aka Undocumented Democrats!

Over 240 years ago George Washington crossed Valley Forge to bring an astonishing victory to the Continental Army. This led to what many thought was impossible — to defeat a despot King and his formidable army.

Today, Trump endeavors to cross the “swamp” of Washington DC as he carries the light of truth, hope, and prosperity. The murky water of the deep state is laced with dangerous vermin, perfectly willing to destroy American prosperity for their personal ideologies and financial gain. The establishment Democrats, Never-Trumper-Republicans, Deep State, and Fake News Media will do all they can to stop the majority of the American people from succeeding.

As an artist, I paint what I feel needs to be said about the current state of our country. I hope Trump is remembered as the President that restored America’s greatness. I want to be on that boat for freedom!

One of Trump’s most well-known campaign chants in 2016 was “drain the swamp.”

The individuals featured in the painting include: Trump, Nikki Haley, James Mattis, Ben Carson, Jeff Sessions, Mike Pence, Melania Trump, Mike Pompeo, Sarah Sanders, Ivanka Trump, John Bolton, Kellyanne Conway and John Kelly.

The above comments by the great Amercan painter Jon McNaughton! Enjoy his you tube with his latest painting. “Draining the Swamp!”

Bush League Republicans do not want the border secured or the laws enforced any more than the Democrats.

We will not get legislation favorable to the citizens and the rule of law until they are replaced.

Any reasonable thinker would know, you DO NOT threaten Donald Trump. I don’t believe Trump is bluffing when he states he will shut down the government. There are of course, certain departments that should remain in operation but much of the boiler plate producers could be gone for a few years and no one would even miss them. If we are ever going to save this country, the time for action has long past, DO IT!

I see your point, but it ends up with the same result. The GOP loves to be in opposition when they can promise anything to the voters. When they have a Republican President, Senate and House, they are exposed for the corrupt liars that they are. They know border security is a prime issue with voters, and a proven winning issue. And yet they prefer to appease their corporate masters, than to embrace the wishes of the American people.
