Frank Opp, of Hell’s Kitchen Motorsports Bar & Grill on Hwy 74, has set up a GoFundMe page under the name of “Holy Fire First Responder Fund” to provide ‘real meals’ and refreshments for firefighters. The Bar’s parking lot is being used as a ‘home base’ for the firefighters according to a USAToday article. So far, over $10K has been raised from an original goal of $1,000.

Holy Fire explodes to 19,107 acres in Lake Elsinore area; 10 percent contained

Cleveland National Forest officials confirmed shortly before 7 p.m. Friday that the acreage increased from more than 18,100 acres to 19,107 acres. It also reached 10 percent containment.

Evacuees who live close to Corona and Lake Elsinore can visit the shelter at Temescal Canyon High School, 28755 El Toro Road in Lake Elsinore. A nurse will be available to help evacuees in need of medication.
In Orange County, displaced residents can stop at the evacuation center in San Juan Capistrano at San Juan Hills High School, 29211 Stallion Ridge.
Evacuees hoping to beat the heat will receive free admission to the Western Science Center near Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet. The center 2345 Searl Parkway is open until 5 p.m. daily through Sunday.

Fire officials on Saturday announced that containment of the massive Holy Fire has more than tripled from 10 percent to 36 percent...The wildfire’s acreage inched upward to 22,158 with more than 1,500 firefighters on the front lines of the inferno in the Cleveland National Forest.

“Fire continues to spread east and north with only limited spread to the west,” the Cleveland National Forest said in a statement. “The fire will continue to impact subdivisions along the foothills of Riverside County. There remains the daily potential for an “Elsinore” down slope event. The fire spread will be an impact to Orange County Subdivision of El Cariso Village. The atmosphere over the fire continues to be very unstable and will allow for large smoke column development and active to extreme fire behavior.

all homes on the mountain-side of Lake Street and southwest of Grand Avenue to the Ortega Highway are under mandatory evacuation orders.
Also under mandatory evacuation are the communities of Holy Jim Canyon, Trabuco Canyon Recreation Residence Tracts, Blue Jay and Falcon Campgrounds, El Cariso Village, Rancho Capistrano, Glen Eden Canyon, and Sycamore Creek.

Holy Fire Flares up Near Santiago Peak, Burning Dozens of Acres After Jumping Containment Lines

“the fire was burning uphill, toward a communications facility that is utilized by many different departments and agencies for emergencies.
“That’s the value at risk at this time,” Carothers said, noting it was the main focus of the firefight.
Firefighters are working to protect the communications towers and infrastructure, according the Fire Authority.”

“Five air tankers and four helicopters were battling the flames from overhead, authorities said. Ground resources — including eight hand crews, nine fire engines and one water tender — were trying access the remote area, which is deep within the forest.”

“Carothers said firefighters were hoping the winds would reverse direction closer to nightfall, pushing the flames back on themselves.
