Had a two tone light grey (lower panels) dark grey Chevy Caprice for about five years in the 90’s—didn’t show the road salt or dust. But the dark grey that followed it had weekly trips to the car wash.
Ooooo....I wanted my hubby to get a yellow motorcycle. People can see you for miles. Making it safer!
LOL! That would stand out in a crowd.
I think the color is the deal. But so many shades of blue available!
Ohhhhhhh....my first real boyfriend had a car EXACTLY like that. It was soooo cool and not at all “gay” then! :) It had beautiful pink and white upholstery.

Aesthetically, I’ve always thought a car should be black or red. But they’ve done studies as to which color is safest and has a lower incidence of being involved in accidents.
It seems to come down to where the study is done: some studies found Silver to be the safest color. Others, White. Generally, lighter colors seem to be more safe.
But I just like red cars...

Mine also said a pink retro car. I think that it was the drive Route 66 answer.
I grew up on Route 66 (Albuquerque) Nostalgia I guess.
