Sessions made it very clear during his confirmation hearings that he would recuse himself from any investigation related to the 2016 election. I don't know why anyone thinks his decision to recuse himself "almost immediately after he became AG" was unexpected.

Freepers who don't understand how our legal system works would do well to understand WHY someone in a prosecutorial role would recuse himself. It's not what you think it is.

At this late stage in the game even if you fired sessions ,rosenstein and mueller, a report will be issued to congress or the media. A deadman’s switch if you will.

You have the whole narrative about Rosenstein and Comey backwards. Rosenstein recommended Comey's termination, and that's exactly what happened.

Then Trump did an interview on NBC with Lester Holt a few days later and made the remarkable statement that he was going to fire Comey anyway -- over the "Russia matter." THAT was what precipitated Mueller's appointment ... because he undermined his Deputy AG right there on national television.

Trump has nobody to blame but himself in this whole thing. For the life of me, I can't imagine why he'd be dumb enough to go on a TV network that he had spent months calling "fake news" and a media arm of the Democrat Party ... and think he was going to accomplish anything for himself or his administration.

Jeff Sessions is President Trump's greatest mistake. Sessions got a no-work job and Trump got Rod Rosenstein as de facto Attorney General.

And perhaps they are simply late to the party to recognize the obvious. I can kinda see why they may be slow to want to be critical of one of their own (serving many years together in Senate) but to most it’s been apparent for a long time that Sessions is corrupted.

Yep that ship sailed. That said over last year I can think of 4 instances when RR handed Trump cause to fire or re-assign him and break Muellers back. Hell, he even threatened house members about 6 months ago. Again, that ship sailed.

• Nationalize the election. Start taking the advice you're being handed on a plate and nationalize.the.election. Turn this 180 on the Democrats who keep running these stupid Russian hex0r stories - screw this election down air-tight with Homeland Security at every single polling site. Privately dare Pelosi to run the usual ham-sandwich buses between precincts. Literally say to her, "I know you're going to run buses between precincts like you always do, and you're going to get caught, and they're going to jail, and you're going to go to jail."
• "Mollie's Law": One strike and you're back to Mejico, and your anchor family is evicted with you. To make clear: One strike and your current US citizenship status, and the citizenship status of your anchor family, is revoked permanently. If you try to come back, you are an enemy of the state.
• Cancel security clearances for anyone specifically associated with the phony Dossier. Light a fire under Congress to promise hearings for everyone who wants to challenge their cancellation of security clearances. You want to maintain your security clearance Cankles? Bobo? Come in and answer a few questions to Congress under oath first.
• Stephen Miller *ahem* President Trump needs to make it crystal clear that the President is in media res with each of these proposals and that he cannot deliver Cankles under oath without a GOP Supermajority, he cannot deliver "Mollie's Law" without a GOP Supermajority, and he cannot promise the Democrats will not cheat without Homeland Security overseeing every single election place.

What is going on? This is a complete 180 from these two. Senator Graham had said that firing AG Sessions would result in “hell to pay” for Trump. Graham is a snake. Why the complete flip flop?

Either Trump's got something on him or he found out that McCain was playing him.

Yes, but with the possible exception of trying to Nationalize the election Trump will not be be doing the other items. It’s what is needed but I am afraid it will not happen. I’m in the camp that we are at war but I do not see any Trump troop movements. Obviously we are just looking on with horror at this spectacle from the sideline and don’t have any idea about behind the scenes but what we do see is anything but re-assuring.

If Trump fires them (mueller, et al) he can strip them of their positions and take everything he can away from them, and they’d have no way to officially do anything with what they have dug up on others.. and blaming it on Trump.

This is so blantant .. everyone in the world can see what mueller is doing to our President.. and I don’t see any in Washington upset over this turn of events that has never happened in our government before... this is lawless ground. why aren’t more in congress calling for their heads? are they as bad and so see nothing wrong with what they are doing?

obama had a habit of doing whatever he wanted.. the lawless one.. and they just let him.. after a bit, they considered it the norm.. that’s how he tried to change laws and the constitution without a vote... this that mueller is doing is about like that.. he’s been at it over a year and so they let him go on committing these acts. It’s not normal and it’s not constitutional ... If they’d wake up from their stupor, they could see what it’s doing to our country!

Mark Levin now saying the President must wait until after the midterm elections before he fires Sessions because of the political consequences if he fires him before the elections. He has to shore up his support in Congress first.
