So that in itself is important information. Make the same request of other areas of the DOJ / FBI. FBI emails on the clinton / Lynch meeting came out from the DOJ, when the FBI claimed there were none.

This case and all similar issues justify Trump’s criticism of Sessions - because he is absent, as he says the DOJ should not be politicizing what it does, as the deep state within the DOJ politicizes everything it does and Sessions ignores it.

I agree that an immediate punishment is the only way to stop the stonewalling. However, the problem is who to punish? Head of the DOJ? Deputy head? The guys in the tech room? A fine will no doubt be assessed to the taxpayers, so jail time, yes.
He will not be influenced by politics.
Let’s hope the judge brings charges of “contempt of court” against the DOJ officials who are stonewalling and acting in a criminal manner.
Time to clean out the most corrupt DOJ in the history of American.
What would be expected, if that happened, is that the Left would say it was Donald Trump’s DOJ being cleaned out rather than their own corrupt partisan weasels being rooted out.
“Most corrupt administration ever!” they’ll mindlessly parrot.
