I only write what I write because I hate to see echo chambers. I've followed your thread for years. Sometimes it seems that some simply have no desire to deal with reality and tear down the hosts. There are times it's deserving.
Maybe my attempt to intersperse some in there, based on my perception. I also stated where I believe this is ultimately going to go. But you asked, graciously and nicely, and after this reply I will honor your request.
Gotcher dam four hunnert there Larri.
I also appreciate that reply.
I think if you honestly said you were not a fan of President Trump it would have gone better.
I can think of many reasons some conservatives are not enamored with him, especially his personality.
But Free Republic is a gathering place for Conservatives.
You can argue what conservatism means, but in so-far as policy goes, Trump has been one of only two real conservative presidents in my lifetime, Ronald Reagan in that pair.
And I really, truly believe that the Russian Collusion actions are all a Obama administration-conspiracy to remove the people’s election choice. It is simply not relevant to discuss the popular vote when that has never been the deciding factor in choosing the president—ever.
As a retired member of this nation’s military, I still am beholden to the oath I swore to the Constitution. Any attempt to circumvent that document is to be defied, according to my oath.
I'm only responding because you reached out on the thread. There are two things. First, I've never been a Trump fan. So you've got that admission. I've always found him vulgar, dishonest and slimey. Those are my opinions and I've held them for many years. I even said back during Clinton the time would come when conservatives will do exactly as the liberals did with Clinton which was circle the wagons and support him despite his failings and shortcomings. We couldn't imagine why they continued to support him. Trump, while not as bad as Clinton is our answer to that. We, like they, stand by what he had done that resonates with us over his character issues.
I will give him that he had done a few good things that would endear him to conservatives. Such as the Supreme Court nominations.
I'm wait and see on Russia. It may be much ado about nothing. But if there is nothing there, then why all the deceptions? Why haven't they been upfront and honest. Even Stone is thinking Don Jr. will suffer an indictment for lying. I wrote earlier that I believe the trail will lead to money laundering between the President, his companies, possibly his campaign and Russians at various levels. Just where I think this going. I may be totally wrong.
I will totally agree with you on Reagan. I've always admired the man.
