The term “Active Measures” is actually the name of a House Select Committee on Intelligence hearing - “Soviet Active Measures”, 97th Congress, 2nd Session, July 13, 14, 1982 which dealt with “disinformation”, propaganda and forgeries, the latter a subject of another, earlier hearing by that same Committee, Feb. 6 & 19, 1980, “Soviet Covert Action: The Forgery Offensive”.
Looks like the anti-Trumpsters have been copying Soviet propaganda operations and words, just like the Communist Party reunion of actors, producers and writers in the 1970’s for the so-called documentary film “Executive Action” (a word Obama liked to use, hmmmm).
Somewhere in an old Accuracy in Media Bulletin, there is a review of this film which I did on its premier showing.
