(BTW, for those not from Maryland, St. Mary's College is a STATE SCHOOL, not a religious school. It is located in St. Mary's City in Southern Maryland...thus the name)

Women (and men?) having “sex” with trees? That would surely involve a good bit of chafing!

I wonder how many students would attend a class given by this professor if they had to pay the tuition themselves instead of getting student loans (or paying nothing because they qualify for student aid).

Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies professor Lauran Whitworth wrote Goodbye Gauley Mountain, hello eco-camp: Queer environmentalism in the Anthropocene, a study which seeks to convey the effectiveness of queer environmental ethics in the Anthropocene, a word increasingly used to describe the anthropogenic destruction of ecosystems that marks our current geological era. I do not know what this claptrap is, but it most certainly is *not* a study. A study is an academic/intellectual endeavor based on empirical observation or controlled experimentation in order to prove or disprove a pre-determined hypothesis. Whatever this woman is spouting, it is *not* the result of scientific inquiry. Yet the article still uses the language of science to describe her work.
Anyone who majors in such tripe should sue the university for failing to provide them an education or even to warn them that being brainwashed to view the world through extremely distorted perspectives and remain perpetually angry does not prepare them for a career.

Can ecosexualitys posthumanist tendencies queer our speciesist modes of belonging and foster an environmentalism that is not foundationally anthropocentric nor steeped in reproductive futurism?
I have no idea what she just said.........

After following the link to her web page, I think I understand the professor’s fixation on sex - she ain’t gettin’ any.
