The Sweden Democrats are not all that conservative, at least on paper from what I have read. Their platform, at least as translated by goolge (look up "Sverigedemokraterna") is worse than I thought. They support the Welfare State, but want to prioritize Swedish Citizens. They want to control immigration, reduce asylum, and force immigrants to assimilate into Swedish culture. However, they define feminism and gay rights as part of Swedish culture. They want schools to promote Swedish history and culture instead of denigrating it.
On paper, they are civic nationalists. One of their members of parliament (their former spokesman) is a Swedish Jew. But, they used to be part of same movement as the Party of Swedes, which is an ethno-nationalist movement, with a lot of Nazis. They groups split two decades ago.
