Let’s ask the generation of babies born whose umbilicord is pot positive. You would be shocked at the numbers states are suppressing. But thank goodness we have ended the war on drugs.. those babies were worth it.

You omitted another possibility. Denying firearms to those who use pot, even if it's medicinal. What I would like to see is a serious study about what so many of us suspect. That is that legal mind-altering drugs are what messed up a lot of the manical killers.

It won't be long before recreational marijuana is unnecessary. So many "diseases" will be covered that anyone who wants it will be able to get a prescription. That will lead to the pharmaceutical companies having another huge cash source. The only reason it'll be legal is so gov can tax it, control its potency, and register users.

Folks who wanted legal marijuana will regret that stance. JMHO

Believe it or not, states are perfectly free to ban alcohol sales, as they should. I was surprised to learn that it wasn't until 1959 when Oklahoma repealed its state prohibition laws.

Regardless, federal Prohibition followed the proper constitutional steps for enactment (and then repeal.) The motivation for it was just (alcoholism and abuse was a horrible societal cancer) and even after its repeal it left a lingering residue of societal disapprobation against alcohol use in many quarters, most notably in public consumption.

What I grow in my backyard, and smoke in the comfort of my living room, is NONE of your business. Get your nose out of it.

Like poppies for heroine or coca plants for cocaine?

So how has keeping illegal for over a hundred years worked out?

Alright then. How about that little light in the fridge. Does that go out when you close the door?

They extrude it into the other end, and then crimp the end shut and sealed.

Quite well. We didn't turn out like China; Collapsed society, hundreds of millions dead. Broken "sick man of Asia."

We dodged that bullet by enacting the Harrison Narcotics act in 1914. China was not so lucky.

The better question would be “How does the Federal government get the authority to outlaw it?”.

You’re wasting your time arguing with addicts. An addict cares nothing about anything except getting their drugs into their system asap. You should see the way they live. Disgusting. But as long as they have their drugs they don’t mind the filth, feces, neglected children........

Here you go about medical marijuana:

https://norml.org/legal/medical-marijuana-2

Only 3 states, 1.7% of the US, are fully compliant with federal law.

98.3% of Americans live in medical marijuana states.

https://norml.org/laws

22 states & DC have either legalized (retail sales) or decriminalized.

Vermont, New Jersey, Michigan, Oklahoma, Utah, Missouri, Virginia, are either voting on it in November or ready to pass legislation.

Regardless of anyone’s feelings about any substance, marijuana is joining alchohol.

Get on the right side of history.

The Harrison Narcotics Act has accomplished nothing. A 15 year old kid can’t legally buy alcohol but drug dealers don’t ask for ID. Ever think of that stupid? And why shouldn’t adults be able to smoke pot? Why not?

Me either. I worry about that. I worry about about a lot of things. I know 2+2 makes 5 but I worry about that too.
