Sad end to his career if true. I don’t see him as being the person.

He's in RUSSIA !

He can't take papers off the president's desk, from RUSSIA!

The disgusting Op-Ed was written in such a way as to implicate others, but NOT Huntsman.

No, no.

The whole discussion about “who the traitor is” is deliberately intended to confuse, divide, and sow discord, but why should anyone believe the traitor is telling the truth about how effective and influential Amb. Huntsman claims he is noow, was then, and might have been in Hillary’s administration?

In the Op-ed, it states that the person took papers off the president’s desk...which I don’t believe anyway, but that’s what it states.

My guess was U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, but I have no reasons why, other than that he's been close to all the trade deals.

Lighthizer has been in GOP establishment circles for decades, and has been charged with implementing the tariffs against China. He recently had to handle President Trump's hardball trade negotiations with Canada, which I'm sure upset many Beltway insiders.

I'd speculate that if there were a "last straw" that triggered the outburst in the anonymous rant in the NYT about reining in Trump's impulses, it would be last week's trade war with Canada. That would make the United States Trade Representative a prime suspect.

Has Sessions been mentioned? He has nothing to lose.. he’s gone after Nov anyway.

He was my first guess.

but Huntsman is not near the WH

Besides that, confidential communications between Trump and Putin are not being leaked.

This takes the heat off Mike Pence and Larry Kudlow, two that were mentioned early on (mostly by liberal commentators).

Even so, Jon Huntsman is, for the most part, nowhere near the White House, and would have little to do with in-house politics on a day-to-day basis.

This is a piece of fiction created by a bunch of Obama regime holdovers, who, curiously enough, are still burrowed in like termites, in the White House.

The Democrats are using this to sow discord within the ranks, and they are getting away with it, when the person may not even be real. For the time being, Trump’s inner circle is going to have to do what it should be doing anyway — keep their speech pure, avoiding juvenile name calling; focus on the facts and the issues; and act like their words will be seen in the newspapers the next day.

Did anyone suggest that maybe Huntsman has been turned by the Chinese? He not only is Ambassador, he speaks Chinese fluently and is well versed in their culture. Just sayin’. I agree, he would be on a short list of suspects.

Sessions would never do this. Totally out of character.

Over at Twitter, someone claims to have found the op-ed to be a college essay. Copied word for word.

IMO someone went through documentation of a few “senior official(s) in the Trump administration” and inserted choice phrases that would point to different individuals.

This is common practice among leakers.

So far we have a rather unique word used by Mike Pence and now a phrase from Jon Huntsman.

” The tone, like Huntsman’s, is pious. And the article’s stated motive—“Americans should know that there are adults in the room”—matches a letter that Huntsman wrote to the Salt Lake Tribune in July. “

I would be surprised if the total isn’t at least three and might go to four.

More than that would absolutely reveal the method.
