I’ll bet Trump volunteered to go to TX to help Cruz.

He's already offered to hold a rally for Cruz.

And some FAKE Conservatives here on FR want to insult this defender of Freedom!

Yeah, FAKE is right.

FR has been infiltrated by what I would not call a left leaning republican but democrat thru and thru.

Others are still whining about the presidential run against what they consider "Saint" Trump and they still have a butt hurt over it.

So when people vote to re-elect the governor this year they aren’t going to vote straight ticket, they are going to vote for Pinto the Beta?

I don’t see anyone onstage at the Cruz rally.

I can photograph an empty movie theater before the first screening starts.

The left pulled that same stunt with the comparison photo of Trump’s innauguration to Obama’s crowd.

“. . . all I care about is the fact that both of them can enact policies which will benefit the country.”

Loved your post, especially this nugget.

He ran a great campaign right to the bitter end.

Anyone who wants him to lose in texas is an idiot. We need every Republican seat to hold the senate...even Colli s, Murkowski, etc.

Otherwise, we’re saying we want Democrats picking judges

I seem to recall that there were about 50/50 split here during the election with support for either Trump or Cruz. Then Cruz started to attack Trump, and pull some shenanigans with Rubio and agains Ben Carson, and he started to come across as kinda creepy.

When Trump wiped the floor with him during the debates, it was clear who the better man was, or who was all talk and no action.

We need Ted Cruz. I can’t believe it’s even a contest down there. I suppect no one is taking the other guy seriously, and they’re letting TEd Cruz squirm a bit. In the end, Trump will come down, and get the turn out he’ll need to win big.

Trump loves Mulvaney. I do too. Cruz needs to win and he is tolerated because he needs to win.

Texas will come through with a landslide for Ted Cruz, mark my words.

Somehow “Beto” supporters (fake name, real name Robert - attempting to make himself seem more Latino) have gotten the cell phone numbers of the voters in Texas. I have recieved 3 texts from 3 different supporters of his trying to get me to vote for him. I tell them I will vote for the real Latino.

They know he is going to lose, they are just using Fake News to try to give him some sort of image of competitiveness. Not going to work.

“What part is fake? That the advisor said it was unlikely he would lose but there is a possibility? Or that there is zero possiblity that Cruz loses? If so why does Cruz want Trump to come to Texas to rally for him?”

Many people (those like me, who supported Cruz over Trump during the election) now are hard core Trump supporters. Cruz needs to show everyone that he, along with the rest of us, has become a hard core Trump supporter.

I didn’t even like Trump and held my nose to vote for him in 2016 (actually more voting against Hillary), but today I would crawl over glass to vote for him again and anybody that he supports. Cruz needs to show us that he now feels the same way - due to Trump’s tremendous success as President and willingness to keep his promises regardless of the odds.

“I think it’s a ploy that both Trump and Cruz are in on. Suggest he may lose. Trump then parachutes in for a rally ‘out of fear’ that Cruz may lose. Democrats pour money in as well as resources. This is money that could be spent elsewhere. So Cruz wins by less than expected thereby giving the rats bragging rights. He will win. Do you really think the WHOLE state of Texas will support someone who considers Kapernick a hero? The thought of Cruz losing is not worth the time to think about it but anything is possible. Let the Rats think just that.”

“Beto” is goin to lose big. He will get support in the usual blue Texas counties, and that is about it. I see Austin coming out to vote, but expect a low turnout for the other blue areas who still believe in God and country.

“I’d wager there are a lot of people who feel that way about Cruz after he used a platform given to him at Trump’s nominating convention to tell people to go vote for Hillary Clinton.”

I’d wager that you are wrong. Cruz did not tell people to vote for Hillary Clinton. He said “vote your conscience” - which I did by NOT voting for Hillary Clinton and holding my nose and voting for Trump. Trump has surprised me as he has many, many people. Texas is full of freedom loving individuals who are now strongly (as I am) supportive of Trump - who (like Cruz) were skeptical in the beginning. Cruz will get twice the support this time than he has ever gotten in a mid-term. Watch and see.

The Trump/Cruz campaign rally will be the biggest ever in the history of politics. If he held one in Coeur D’ Alene Idaho, it would go on record as drawing the largest population/state percentage ever. But that won’t happen, since 70% will vote for him anyway, and he needs to be in other states and cities like Detroit.

> He said “vote your conscience”

If there’s a single person who actually witnessed the speech and interpreted it as anything but a plea to vote for Clinton, I’d be shocked. It was obvious to all what he meant: “Don’t vote for Trump” - extreme sore loserness, and completely classless.

We can go back and review the FR reaction at the time if you like. To say he meant anything but “Vote Clinton over Trump” is historical revisionism. We all know what he meant, and that is exactly what he meant.

At the time I also thought it was not what he should be saying because we needed to defeat Hillary, and I thought that he showed his bitterness, but I couldn’t blame him after the things Trump said and did to him and his family. But then again, I wasn’t onboard with Trump at that time either. Trump had to prove himself. And he has to me and to many many others.

Even those who are still offended by Cruz’s convention speech I would expect to vote for him anyway due to the importance of the position, just like we voted against Hillary when we didn’t like Trump.

Cruz can’t claim butthurt about Trump - Cruz attacked first, attacked more often, and attacked nastier. Up to the very last minute he was basically trying to pull off a coup at the convention; and having failed to do that, used his platform at the convention itself to appeal to Republicans to vote for Clinton instead. The audacity of the betrayal was breathtaking.

There are lines that, if crossed, can’t be un-crossed, and that was an un-re-crossable line as far as trust in Cruz goes.

Anyway, this time around, sure, vote Cruz. But let’s not deceive ourselves - this guy is a complete snake and should not be the candidate for the next cycle.

That he’s actually in a tight race in Texas with a far-left seditionist goes to demonstrate how weak a candidate he is.
