I have my son in a classical curriculum with 2 campus days...I noticed in Tyler on the south side of the city they have a rather impressive edifice for a new classical school.
It’s happening classical is code for save the west via reading real literature, history and the Bible.

alot of “private schools” are using curriculum that is “Common Core” sanctioned. It’s not always the answer

Khrushchev’s we will bury you speech. He said they would do it using our education system and our mass media. Guess what?

This organization tracks the most assigned texts in universities.
From what I understand, Plato's Republic has an ideal city - basically communism. Then of course, communist manifesto is #4 in the USA
I used the 'field' filter to narrow to the field of Education and looked up some of the titles on amazon. Negative reviews on them had a common theme. Marxism.

From what I can tell, these days a young white male goes to college in order to accumulate massive debt that cannot be discharged by bankruptcy, to be indoctrinated in the failed lethal ideology of Marxism, to be informed that his sex and skin color make him "privileged" and therefore morally inferior, and to be falsely accused of rape and convicted by a feminist academic Star Chamber.
When I was a kid, there was never a doubt about the net benefit of attending a good college and obtaining at least an undergrad degree. Things have changed. The old cost/benefit ratio, she ain't what she used to be.

I was heartened to see “The Elements of Style” at number one. My copy is about three feet from me.

Year-round community colleges are the answer. Teaching skills. Trimester system. No summers off. Including trades training. It ought to be cheap and easy to learn a trade.

I’d tell a young person to learn a trade. Be an electrician or a plumber. Plumbers make a fortune.

Now? It was enemy territory in the 1970s.
