ANYONE who stays in a building looking at the OCEAN during a hurricane is a moron! All that water is coming right at you! Hotels were destroyed in Camille . Flo is no Camille but wind driven storm surge from the Atlantic leaves you counting on sheer luck!She may get lucky with this one, but I think intentionally putting your kids in danger should not be allowed. Cops should take the kids to a shelter. She can stay if she likes-if she lives she can get them later.

I used to live in Lakeview on Porteous. i moved after my home flooded during the mid-90s 500-year flood. Kids were going down the street in canoes. For Katrina I lived in Slidell, we were the direct hit. Lost my home there.
Looks like the Outer Banks will be spared. The southern beaches not so much.
