I think you’re right that Cruz will filet her, but don’t forget that Kavanaugh himself can become a very active and informed defendant in his own defense (behind the scenes).
I don’t think the Dems are going to find Kavanaugh to be the “ let me just lay down and let you steamroll me “ type. My impression so far is that this man is breathing fire on this.

They can’t just blithely proceed without holding hearings. That would allow the Democrats to claim the Republicans/Kavanaugh had something to hide. Let her testify. Let him deny. Let the other guy she accused of being present deny. Let them ask her if she has any evidence for THIRTY SIX YEAR OLD allegations and her changing her story about them and her timing of coming forth with these allegations. Let them eviscerate her claims in front of the whole country so that the Democrats can’t claim there’s anything to this and be believed by the overwhelming majority of the public. Its such obvious BS it will fall apart when exposed to the light of day.
Right, people criticize Trump on certain things and they are not banned. And the post didn’t say anything about criticize this person on a matter and you are banned, they just don’t want the badmouthing anymore that leads to 100s of posts that don’t help anyone.
No they don't need to destroy her they just need to destroy the credibility of her story. Something that can be done very respectfully and Cruz is eminently qualified to do that.

Yes. I think what Cruz is really asking for here is the right to cross-examine the complaining witness, rather than having her accusations just played up in a sympathetic press with no pushback.
