The accuser, who is in seclusion, has not spoken publicly or provided any actual testimony. The accuser is also a self admitted alcoholic.
No responsible public prosecutor could file charges on such a weak story.

It’s kind of concerning that they are all insisting on the “FBI” for a distinctly non-Federal matter.
I won’t even say “offense”, because even if Kavanaugh or one of his buddies did fumble a move on Choo-choo there - well, if the cops got involved whenever THAT happened, you would need lots more cops.
But back to their party line = “get us the FBI”. What’s up with that? McCabe is gone. Strzok is gone. Ohr is on the bubble, and not credible. Loretta Lynch is no longer Attorney General.

Not to mention, the FBI does not investigate local/state crimes and they sure as heck do not investigate 35 year old “crimes” with expired statute of limitations.
I’m pretty sure it’s not a Federal crime for a Republican President to nominate a Supreme Court Justice. Yet.
Theoretically apparently Ford can file a sexual assault complaint with the Montgomery county DA 36 years later since Maryland has no statute of limitations in sexual assault cases. Guilty or not charging him as a youthful offender on her word would wreak havoc with the nomination. I have no doubt the Dems are trying to push her in that direction even though there is little chance of an ultimate conviction when proof beyond a reasonable doubt is required . But then again justice is not the intent of the filing

FBI is under the Executive branch overseen by the President, not the Legislative branch.
Serious and credible. It was 36 years ago give or take somewhere in Maryland not sure where or when. Oh and there were 3 other people present or was it 5. And the accuser admits to being drunk no doubt improving her memory. I can’t believe anyone is taking this seriously. It should be laughed out of the committee and allow the nomination to procede
