"Kavanaugh gets in and the dems have a campaign issue."

><><><><><><><><<>>><><>>><><><>

I see it differently. If Kavanaugh gets in, dems have lost a campaign issue for all intents and purposes .....and.....shown their wacky left crazies how inept they are and that they didn't go far enough.

“So, since the deadline is now past,”

The deadline hasn’t passed yet, it’s two hours from now, 10pm eastern time.

... Senate vote had to occur by a certain date in order for Kavanaugh to hear the next round of cases scheduled for the next Supreme Court session.

The next SCOTUS session starts on Monday 1 October 2018, with oral arguments for 2 cases occurring each day Monday-Wednesday. So that leaves only next week to get him confirmed and sworn in. If the committee vote is on Thursday and they can line up a Senate vote for Friday (which seems sporty given the elaborate rules of the Senate because there probably needs to be time for "debate"), he could be sworn in on Saturday or Sunday and be on the job on Monday.

So he will likely miss the first few days but he can catch up. He likely has not had time to preview those cases to be very much engaged in those oral arguments anyway.

Apparently, A Thursday hearing would have the effect of delaying the vote to a point where even if Kavanaugh were to be approved, he could not be seated.

The internet is filled with these bullsh!t stories today.

Neil Gorsuch was confirmed in the middle of the Supreme Court's 2016-17 term, and joined the Court in April 2017 -- so he couldn't participate in any decisions in that term.

Oh, wait a minute ... that didn't happen. He cast votes on many decisions over the remainder of that term.

I wonder if the FBI can check how often she has flown. Probably a lot more than she makes out

I actually dislike flying, so I know a bit about the subject.

A fear of confined spaces is a classic symptom of PTSD.

I am highly skeptical of CBF’s claim to have a fear of flying.

But I am sure someone with her background is familiar with the connection between fear of confined spaces (this includes elevators too) and PTSD. And of course, many women who have actually been raped suffer from PTSD.

I would like to suggest that no one who has ever suffered from PTSD would voluntarily place themselves in the national spotlight by accusing a Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault.

Let’s see if that is the narrative they try to put forward.

This Committee has been extremely accommodating to your client. We want to hear Dr. Ford’s testimony and are prepared to accommodate many of your demands, including further delaying a hearing that is currently scheduled for Monday. We are unwilling to accommodate your unreasonable demands. Outside counsel may not dictate the terms under which Committee business will be conducted.

Please respond by 5:00 pm to accept the invitation for Dr. Ford to testify on Wednesday according to the terms outlined above. We will have to issue various Committee notices soon after, so timeliness is extremely important.

 From the press release...

Hey, Jordain Carney, whoever or whatever he/she/it is, this was NOT a “sexual assault.”

It is an unfounded allegation of two drunken teenagers groping each other 36 years ago.

In other words, it’s a load of *hit and so are you, Jordain.

“Yeah but the counteroffer is for Wednesday”

Wednesday AND each committee member must kneel and bow while speaking to or questioning her.

“strangely, there isn’t a statute of limitations on this in Maryland”.

actually there is
possible charge of sexual offense in the fourth degree is a misdemanor 1 year statute of limitations..their imo is insufficient evidence of probable cause to make an arrest..first thing she needs to do is file a written police report..making a false police report is a crime..

https://statelaws.findlaw.com/maryland-law/maryland-rape-and-sexual-assault-laws.html

Third Degree – includes any of the following:
engaging in sexual contact (intentionally touching the victim’s or defendant’s genital, anal, or other private parts for sexual gratification or abuse of either person) in any of the following situations:
Without consent while using a weapon, strangling or seriously injuring the victim, threatening the victim with death, serious injury, or kidnapping, or committed with another’s help OR
The victim is mentally or physically incapacitated (drunk or unconscious for example) and the defendant knows of his or her condition
The victim is under 14 years old and the defendant is at least 4 years older
Engaging in a sexual act (i.e. oral or anal sex) or vaginal sex with a 14 or 15 year old victim by a 21 year old or older defendant, AKA statutory rape

Fourth Degree – any of the following:
Engaging in sexual contact without the other’s consent
Engaging in a sexual act or vaginal sex with a 14 or 15 year old when the defendant is at least 4 years older
Engaging in a sexual act, sexual contact, or vaginal sex with a child under 18 who at the time of the sexual activity was a student enrolled in a school where the person was in a position of authority (i.e. a principal, coach, teacher, or counselor who’s at least 21 years old, employed by the school, and was in a supervisory position over the student)
