“I just HATE that Kavanaugh and his family are being strung along like this!!!”

Can’t be repeated enough. The Republicans always do this to their nominees. Bush wouldn’t even defend the mission for the soldiers who went to Iraq because he wanted to be above it,

The goal is to defuse the Sunday morning dog'n'pony snorefest, which The Turtle fears his two distaff moderates aren't immune to. And he's right.

She's not coming. They can deadline like 6pm Sunday and vote 10am Monday.

How do I know she's not coming? Ever since this came out, where is DiFi for the last 72 hours?

"From Connor Marley: Feinstein on Ford: "a woman that has been, I think, profoundly impacted, on this..I can't say that everything is truthful. I don't know."
END. OF. STORY. DiFi got taken like a chumpette; and now The Turtle is poised to deliver ALL the GOP votes and 2 or 3 DEMOCRAT votes!

Getting Blackburn elected and keeping the Senate is hugely ok important for MAGA. A Conservative woman can push the agenda forward a lot in this kind of environment.

If she doesn’t agree to a definitive date for next week, just hold the vote on Monday.

Go, Grassley!

“Every one of these vacillations and deadline changes cost more Republican votes in November...”

Why? WHY?!

If this was a 55-45 Senate, a more conservative judge would already have been approved. Lots of good lower court judges have been approved. And you think having FEWER Republicans - having a Democrat-majority Senate - would make it better?

We complain about spineless senators. How about weak & stupid republican voters who insist on 100% of the loaf or nothing!?

Nope. He is giving her until Wednesday to testify

Moving deadlines, moving hearings, moving venues -- the whole thing is in flux and feels out of control.

First it's this, then it's that - oops - nope, it's this again - no it's not - it was that all along -- wait - it's neither - scratch everything, 'cause there's a whole new deal.

I'm sick of it.

Okay, I'm reading fresh threads on the forum and no one is saying Wednesday. Per what I'm reading, the hearing is still set for Monday.

Don’t know about Trump but Flakes family sure as heck employs illegals/has admitted it in the past! Nothing stopping GOP leadership from taking him aside discreetly and telling just how much a NO vote on Kavanaugh can cost him once he leaves the Senate (and be out of power)! That’s one way you can play hardball with a lame duck, NeverTrump RINO!

He is going to hold the VOTE on Monday if she does not respond to him by 2:30 pm today to set the date to testify at a hearing on Wednesday. She wanted Thursday, he would only commit to Wednesday - Thursday is too late. Although he has given her until Wednesday to testify, he needs to know today if she will be there on Wednesday. If she does not commit that she will show up on Wednesday, the vote will be held this Monday.

Hope that expalins it; I am not the best at getting my thoughts across. :)

No I don't think that, but the repeated deadlines that are not met followed by another deadline, and then another (something like five by now) is demoralizing and disgusting to many. Just look at the comments here on FR. Grassley would have been better not setting deadlines rather than so often saying never mind. There will be a depressing effect on GOP voters.

Agree. That’s about the only thing I admired about Dingy Harry and the DimRat congressional leadership is their ability to enforce party discipline on major legislation! Not a single DimRat senate vote for tax cuts, even the Red State DimRats up for re-election this year voted AGAINST IT!

If the GOP Senate fails to confirm Kavanaugh or fails to do so in a timely manner (well prior to the midterms) will spell disaster in the midterms! Now is not the time for Mavericks/lame ducks playing games!

Kavanaugh may not get a single Red State Senate DimRat Vote so Mitch must have 50 locked in votes to ensure Kavanaugh gets confirmed by VP Pence casting the tie breaking vote!

Hopefully you (and McConnell) are right. Yes, doubt Mitch would stick his neck out like this if he didn’t have 50 locked in GOP yes votes for Kavanaugh’s confirmation!

Then explain how Dingy Harry and his descendants in congressional/Senate DimRat leadership are constantly able to enforce party discipline in their caucus on major legislation? Did you know that NOT ONE DimRat Senator voted for the Tax Cut Bill, not even one of the seriously endangered Red State DimRat Senators Voted for it!

If Kavanaugh gets confirmed after this 11th hour smear job it will also likely be by party line GOP vote - he may NOT get a single endangered Red State DimRat to vote for his confirmation!
