I’d love to see a federal judge tell the Senate how to do their constitutional duty...LOL...

Senator Merkley is delusional. If the courts try to do this the Senate will rip the courts a new a**hole.

“Sen. Jeff Merkley asked a court Thursday afternoon to quickly step in and delay the Senate from voting on this weekend on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.”

OMG!

Firstly, the Senate (as a whole) is the final authority regarding whether it has advised and consented.

Secondly, it’s a “political question,” so the courts won’t touch it with a ten foot pole.

Courts have no jurisdiction to grant any such demand

Typical of the Left to run crying to the courts to get their way. That has to stop, so President Trump’s court nominees should be fast- tracked to fill court vacancies.

From this Kavanaugh hearing, we should realize why democrats want to deny his the seat. Democrats in general can not win in normal election on policies. They have long decided to resort to different ways of implementing their policies: via court. It’s much easier this way. Just find a person on their side and sneak him into court. He can reliably rule for them without having to face voters every once a while. This senator knows this.

The hearing is Tuesday? He’ll be confirmed by then. 😜

Never underestimate the ability of republican leadership to waffle.

Never underestimate the ability of an activist judge to rule where he has no business.

Never think flake won't do anything to get his name in the news

They truly believe we, the American public, are morons.

Unfortunately we morons can still, at least for now, vote.

Dems think they are superior to everyone else.

They have FFFFFFfeeeelings so whatever they do and think is the right way and everybody agrees....they can and will do whatever they want. Media will provide cover.

It ain't so and this superiority crap must end Nov. 6. Minimize the bastards to the point of extinction.

".... Once the vote is taken, plaintiff’s ability to comply with the Constitution’s advice and consent process will be permanently extinguished...."

Well, duh. As is in every other facet of life, all things must end. Conclusions reached. Votes taken. Justices confirmed.

It'd be nice if this were only dress rehearsal like in the make-believe of Hollywood and LaLa Land.

But this is real life. When it's over, it's over. You don't get to keep playing your silly games ad infinitum to delay or stop this confirmation.

Just watch though. One liberal senator from a liberal state will get a favorable ruling from a liberal judge in DC appointed by our liberal friend, Obama.

Which to my way of thinking, is the very reason we need a Kavanaugh on the SC. To help stop these liberals from trying to rule the country from the judicial bench because they can't win power from the electorate at the ballot box.

The senator is guilty of attempted obstruction of governance.

There is no court with authority over the senate

I think it would be great to watch an obola judge attempt to shutdown the US Senate Advise and Consent power. Maybe then, there will finally be a serious beat down on these tyrants.

Perhaps you folks recall the pie fights in the Three Stooges comedies.

Funny, senseless, degrading to all participants.

Well...

The DEMOCRATS brought a pie fight to the U. S. Senate; and, the Senate GOPers responded with dignity and responsibility.

The DEM response?

Another...

...Pie fight!

.

Would any Constitutional scholars out there explain to me how any Federal court or judge would have the authority to forbid the US Congress from voting on a particular matter?

Judge Amy Berman Jackson...

Oh please, please, please, when this leftist tool issues an injunction what is McConnell to do? There is only one proper response - to laugh, then mark it return to sender, address unknown, No such number, no such zone

One could attach a note:

Dr. Judge Jackson, thanks for the laugh but we do not require the Court's assistance in writing our own rules under the Constitution. Have a FFFFFFine day, Love Mitch.

This is not within the jurisdiction of any court. It’s a political question.
