I can not deny that, and nor do I defend that Maine as a state is mistaken often, to a large extent due to the cancer from the south, but also with significant responsibility.
Also, it's hard to think Maine won't soon totally fall because the cancer tends to spread, and a mix of healthy and cancerous cells is ... well ... cancer. (As Ayn said -> in any compromise between poison and food, the man dies)
But for the moment, we're not MA or NY or CT. The state is sick with the cancer, but we're not the cancer.
Lastly, we are huge geographically and those who aren't sick are as pure in their love of freedom as anyone on the planet. When and if the fight breaks out in the country, and the patriots inevitably win, I promise we will occupy an inordinate share of the chapters written about that fight.
You vaccinate a body against a sickness by partially infecting it. We are partially infected.
Well, the RATs have controlled the House for 50 years or longer, and most of our population (1.5 million) lives within 50 miles of RAT-infested Portland.
The "Second Maine" (CD-2) seems pretty normal to me, in terms of typical rural US politics, but we are outnumbered by the moonbat transplants and radical socialists of Southern Maine.
Too bad we can't secede.
