McConnell is Majority Leader. Grassley is a co-equal Senator reporting only to his state electorate twice every six years. Once at a primary and once in a general.

Majority Leaders have some power to select committee assignments but their are rules within the caucus that need to be followed or the leader is violating the trust of his caucus.

Merrick Garland is an effing piece of Cuck Mitt for not sticking up for his guy Brett Kavanaugh.

May his cuck name be cast into The Outer Darkness.

There is no rule. There is politics. There is power, but there is no rule.

McConnell and the GOP could block Garland because they had the majority. Had the Democrats had the majority, they would have confirmed Garland and laughed off any mention of the “Biden rule”as the whining of losers.

The “Biden rule” is absurd in the first place. It’ basically says that on Sup Court nominations, the previous presidential election is only good for three years instead of four, and the last mid-term result is only good for one year instead of two.

So long as judicial supremacy reigns, so long as the Sup Court can issue whatever absurd rulings it collectively chooses and the other two branches will just meekly obey it, then appointing good judges is of utmost importance. As such, a Republican-controlled Senate should block any nominee from a Democrat presidency, and a Democrat-controlled Senate should block nominees from a Republican President,, whether it’s the first, second, third or fourth year of the President’s term. And on the other hand, if the Presidency and the Senate are both held by the same party, then a SCOTUS nominee should obviously be confirmed in any year.

If Republicans still have the Senate in 2020 and there is a vacancy, they’d be crazy not to confirm a good nominee from Trump. They’d undo the surprising guts they showed with the Kavanaugh battle and resume their well-earned distinction as The Stupid Party.

I mean, why are they indulging their enemies in the media like this right after a huge victory?

My only ‘panic’ is that we have 85 year-olds STILL IN OFFICE AFTER 30+ YEARS!

Nope. Nope. Nope.

The Gerontocracy is in charge in most countries. Grassley did a great job in getting Kavanaugh confirmed. And he deserves credit for it.

I don’t like watching people on this site spinning around like weather-vanes between hate and love. They just tear down everything and claim defeat in a victory.

“Why did he say this? He’s sick of winning.”

No, he has the same disease most of we Conservatives suffer from; a sense of fairness. We held up Garner in the year leading up to an election and is saying he will do the same if it happens on Trumps watch. That’s al...

I was referring to the “Trump Prophecies”, in which his presidency was foretold. It also said he would get to make 5 SC appointments.

Don’t underestimate Ruth Buzzy. She’s a radical leftist idealogue, she will hang on to her SCOTUS seat until she literally drops dead in it.

She’s tough. She’s a nine and a half year pancreatic cancer survivor. She may outlive the Wise Latina.

Yes and the GOP should boycott Wallasses weekend show. They don’t need him in any way shape or form. Fox has plenty of other fair and balanced programs.

Stay away from that guy.

No, he’s saying that if he is LEADING the committee...

For him to lead the committee, the republicans have to be in the majority.
