I still see him as the new John McCain.

Maybe, and I imagine he's going to cause trouble, but it's going to be much tougher for him than it was for McCain.

For one thing, Romney will be only 1 of 60 Republicans and so he can't kill things at the last moment.

Exactly what you said. Honestly, were I living in Utah I would not vote for him.

I voted for McCain (actually, Sarah) and then Romney and was mercilessly stabbed in the back by both. Ah, no way Romney would get my vote. Republicans will keep the Senate with or without Romney. So, no go.
