A lot of those camps were seized by the IRS for tax payments, that was how the government took down the Klan, taxes.

Fake Klansman is a very effective way to drum up minority voting.
This is done in just about every election cycle in New Jersey, same MO, some racist cartoon, placed on cars or mailboxes, about 20-30 in minority or mixed neighborhood. Just enough to make the news.

It is just that the Klan had a lot of members in New Jersey and had their printing press, university and money infrastructure here in New Jersey. The printing press printed a lot of the Klan’s books, newsletters like the “Good Citizen” and other literature. It even had its own town in New Jersey as well Zarephath, NJ. The University building is going to be demolished because it got severely damaged during Hurricane Irene and Sandy (flooding). It was a christian university and have been relocated since.
The Klan may be gone, but some swastika-tattooed people and their ilk are still around.
Of course, that doesn’t mean they’re responsible (unless these pamphlets are dropped all the time and the story only makes the news around election time? Maybe reporting it on the news is the Dem election trick).
There was probably a bit of the Sedition Act as well - they were closed when we went to war.
