I can’t even fathom her ability to physically endure another campaign and four years in the job. She had to limit her appearances last time around, and doesn’t look in good health now. She can’t climb stairs without someone holding her arm, and preferably someone on both sides. There are young 70 year olds. She not one of them. If it’s possible to make a clear-eyed assessment of her chances, then it must certainly focus on her health or the lack of it.

Nobody who has waited her entire life to run for president and who was forced to endure having it snatched away from her by her own party when it was ‘her turn’ could have justified being off the campaign trail, especially in key states (that she eventually lost to everyone’s shock) for such long stretches. Then there was the 9/11 collapse and her quack doctor’s clean bill of health rushed out to contain the damage.

This is a person rapidly aging and that aging has been accelerated and excerbated by a lifetime of being overweight and mostly sedentary. She was never the healthiest person in the world and the open secret of her heavy drinking combined with her daily intake of what must be 30% of the pharmacy have nearly incapacitated her. Her ironclad demands for brief on-stage appearances (30-45 min max), comfy pillows/chairs, etc. may sound grandiose but they are a hedge against her lack of stamina and very real possibility of collapsing (again).

She’s always been brutally unattractive but compared to her recent appearance of huge bags under eyes combined with huge baggy dresses - she looked the picture of health in 2016. 2020 will seem to arrive quickly but it’s still two full years of walking a tightrope of physical maladies for her.
