Bracamontes had been living near Salt Lake City where he remained until 2014, when he and his wife embarked upon a methamphetamine-fueled trip that ended with their arrests in Placer County after the deputies were killed.

He came to the sanctuary state of California where he was made welcome.

More McClatchy crocodile tears. Did they raise hell when Brown pardoned illegal aliens so they wouldn’t be deported?

"He apparently did not stay in Mexico long. Records in Arizona show he was arrested on drug charges again in Phoenix in 1998, then released “for reasons unknown” by Arpaio’s office. Arpaio is a Republican."

God forbid this reporter should follow up, and determine the disposition of his 1998 arrest. Was he sentenced to do time? Was he released by a judge? Was he released into the custody of the Border Patrol and deported? It's much easier for this numb nuts to say that Sheriff Arpaio who released him was a Republican, instead of actually doing any research to find out what really happened. The fact is that during all the years he came and went, nothing was done by the government to prevent him from coming back repeatedly, despite the fact that a wall had been authorized.

But the president’s claim that “Democrats let him into our country” is not entirely accurate, and neither is the claim that “Democrats let him stay.”

What kind of a "fact check" is this? So the Democrats actually support tougher border security and tougher laws against illegal immigration and have been blocked by Trump or Republicans from even proposing it and voting for it? The President isn't arguing they personally went down there and personally escorted him up - he's arguing the policies they support have resulted in this and must be changed to prevent it. Quite a plausible argument. It's difficult to tell if this "fact check" is just plain clueless and stupid or intentionally biased and misleading.

LOL!”Not entirely accurate” is code-word for “it’s all true but there’s a different nuance available” - ever since Clinton questioned what the meaning of “is” is....
