Drill SGT Andrew (1984 in my boot camp) said it best.

“Success is your own worst enemy....a good swift kick in the nuts brings you back into reality.”

Yep, like Sessions, Ryan is MIA.

If the GOP spent half the energy of democrats, we would win. They spend zero or even less, indulging them

I know it’s an FR tradition to throw grenades in all directions at a time like this, but a little thought (heaven forbid) is in order.

hundreds bills that passed the house died in the senate — including multiple repeals of ACA. blame mccain, corker, paul, and the former incarnation of lindsey graham.

part of it was inevitable because the electorate is uninformed and easily scared by the MSM and dems. but generally, the house did its job.

history lesson over.

Absolutely. He personally threw in the towel well before the midterms. He is not a leader. Never was.

Yep. He blamed the President. It was our fault, though. We didn’t inform other Republicans enough.

Now, fake conservative trolls will be blaming President Trump in Internet forums for not having a friendly House of Representatives for immigration reform for the next couple of years, and they’ll do it in efforts to get a Democrat elected to the presidency. The trolls will swear that the President could fix immigration all by himself without a Republican majority in the House.

45 retiring GOP incumbents and their established donor streams, all of which decided to sit on their hands instead of support the next generation of the party lost the house. They and their staffs will spend the rest of their lives on the outside of national politics looking in, and they should. If you think fresh blood is a good thing, Republicans are two election cycles ahead of democrats, maybe more.

Yes. Trump can forget legislation ... and so can the dems BTW. I don’t see how anything of substance getting passed in the Congress over the next two years. Trump must go around Congress.

That repeal bill was a turd to begin with. All because of Ryan’s week leadership.

100% correct. McConnell did his part with a far smaller majority. Ryan did nothing in his whole time as speaker. Could not even repeal obamacare which was what they ran on. He and his buddies deserve to go down. Maybe the next time they get majority they will have a speaker like Newt with a 10-point contract.
