I’m with you. I honestly like them. But so much of it looks like “dress up day.” Did you see some of the models walking around in the “distressed” caps? I know, they looked good on MacArthur, but....
Now if they can only come back with the summer khaki’s.
And the jungle fatigues!
They look good to me.
Great move. The Dress Blues were fine for formal occasions, but not for everyday use.
The Ike Jacket was gotten rid of because there were too many fat Colonels that looked rediculous in them.
My Dad wore them and looked great in them! They were gone before I enlisted in 64.

At Last.
The Firefighters union like all unions is all in for the Rats.
Oops wrong thread sorry.
Marlow White Company is going to make bank though.
Get rid of the UOD in public.
Got many pics of my old man (WWII Airborne) and his brothers (Pacific vets, Marine and Army) wearing those uniforms.
One pic, my old man standing “at ease” in front of the Arc d’ Triumph, captioned “Looking down the Champs”...
Conquering hero... with French women in the background giving him “the eye”... Heheh... Kilroy was, indeed, “there”...
Judging from the photos, the trousers appear to be the wrong color: gray rather than “pink.”
The jacket looks to be identical to the Marine Service Uniform A.
Logical sequence of events. First the Army wants everyone to look like Special Forces so they go with berets. Now the Army wants to look like Marines so they just steal the whole uniform.
:)
Loved both of these, 1505’s were just good-looking and the Jungle Khaki’s were bad-ass.
This is from a Marine officer who was saying the same thing on another site who had:
2. Flight Suit for flying. One piece coveralls in different materials, designs and colors, depending on assignment. In Vietnam I wore a tiger stripe flight suit, there was also Olive drab, Marine Green, International Orange, and Khaki.
3. Summer Class A uniform, spiffy khaki belted tunic and matching trousers in a good material.
4. Winter Class A uniform, same design but Marine Green and a very good quality of cloth.
5. Summer Dress White Uniform, high collar white tunic without a belt, and matching white trousers.
6. Dress Blues, High collar black belted tunic, with blue trousers with a wide red stripe down the leg.
7. Mess Dress, elegant short shell jacket with high collar, shoulder boards, sleeve embroidery, worn with a formal dress shirt and cumberbund, elegant trousers with gold and red stripe.
8. Summer Work Uniform, short sleeved, open collar khaki shirt, and Marine Green trousers of a lighter weight than the Winter Class A uniform trousers.
9. Physical Training uniform, shorts, tee shirt, and athletic shoes.
10. Marine/Seal/UDT swim trunks, very distinctive khaki short shorts with a little half belt in front. You see somebody with this suit on and you knew immediately who he was.
I believe the pinkish hue in the 40s was due to the dry cleaning/starch press chemicals in use at the time, which altered the original color after so many cleanings.
