It’s going to be interesting in Tijuana at 9 am tomorrow when anti caravan protestors will be out. Also Pueblo sin Fronteras has a protest too.
I am older than you and couldn’t be happier to be my age despite being fairly close to the end of my life (hopefully not too close).
I feel not a shred of sympathy with what seems to be in store for the citizens who have allowed this to happen to our Nation. I grew up in the 1950’s and lived thru what I believe we’re this country’s greatest yrs.
It is mostly unrecognizable today and there is no one to blame but us.

Are you not “us?” Have you not allowed this to happen? You don’t think you share some responsibility for what has been allowed to happen? And you are seasoned citizens...mature adults...
Kids who are in their 20s or even just turning 30 are in the early parts of their adult lives...One of my kids fondly calls it “adulting” when they have to do things like pay taxes, insurance selection, purchasing homes, cars, etc...
Seriously though they don’t bear full responsibility for the state of affairs in which we find ourselves...How many elections has a 20-something voted in or worked on?
You are over 60...again, w/all due respect, in your 40+ years of adulthood besides posting on FR and voting, what have you done to stop the liberal tide? Frankly, our generation bears some responsibility as we allowed this stuff to fester and grow during our adult lifetime. Few of us could not have done more over our lifetimes to thwart the progressive PC movement and inculcation of our kids with liberal ideas.
Oh and I guess neither of you have children or grandchildren. My 3 kids are all conservative (one even has FR account), another worked diligently on conservative campaigns, third is raising his kids in traditional family—going to a Christian school too. Neither they nor their young children (under age of 7) support any liberal initiatives, so I take issue with you stereotyping everyone younger than you, and taking a detached third person responsibility for the problems in which we find ourselves.
It is because I have been fortunate enough to live a good life that I care deeply about the futures of my kids and grand kids, that their lives won’t be as good as mine.
Yes, it may be my grand kids fight (which they did not ask for and bear no responsibility to current events), but seriously, perhaps instead of feeling thankful that we are old and won’t be here for the decline, we ought to be stepping up and getting involved...Since we are older, we have less to lose...
As you said, “We have met the enemy, and it is us” but we seniors are not completely blameless any more than all millennials are completely responsible.
Just some food for thought and a different perspective.
I am over 70. My kids were raised to know right from wrong and respect their elders. They were taught a work ethic and were not spoiled in any way.
I was active in local politics ,(support, never ran for office).
If everyone did as I did we wouldn’t be where we are.
So yeah, I feel no responsibility.

Also Mexico is talking about using their “National Guard” not sure in what capacity as I only caught part of the news..it could be for all of Mexico for the drug problem/corruption ..they are talking about integrating/coordinating the Military with Police and the pros and cons..

Gee I am glad President Trump does not have the same attitude as you, or we would have President Bush or Clinton...Our President has had a successful career, raised wonderful talented chldren, and is 10 years older than I. Yet, he is spending every waking minute trying to save the country...MAGA?!?
Oh and I did the same as you, raised my kids well, etc...That comes natural/instinctive-I mean seriously what parents (save a very small minority) don’t want to raise their children well? Problem is that our society’s definition of raising them well has changed for some over time...
I guess I am not as smug as you...I think perhaps we bear some responsibility for the current state affairs ... perhaps because we were too insular in the raising of our kids...at least I was...My kids played with “good kids” and we moved so they could live in a very safe town with best schools, etc. And mine have all turned out very well—however, our neighbors’ kids in the older neighborhood, maybe not so much. Also, perhaps our generation did not do as much as we could have to impact local communities to combat stuff like diversity, global warming, sex ed, transgender promotion, demonizing of gun ownership, etc. when those issues were in their infancy and more easily winnable... ...I raised my kids in a bubble of sorts...They had nice childhoods raised with traditional family values, were protected, went to excellent schools...They wanted for very little...
Was I active? Yes, I was active in pro-life marches/ campaigns, on the school sex ed committee promoting abstinence, I did lit drops and phone banks for various local and state candidates, but looking back, I could have done more and wish I had.
And tho you say: If everyone did as I did we wouldn’t be where we are.
I say: If everyone had done more, we would not be where we are...
BTW, I am guessing your kids kids don’t live in USA and likely don’t have kids themselves, because everyone is affected to some degree by bad decisions of our government/ society...only need to look at the obama reign over the past decade...we are still being affected by many of his bad decisions. Truly, in the USA, is no place to run or hide from hard times ahead for our progeny.
Again, I am glad we have a president who had done a great job raising his kids, is over 70, and yet stepped up to do everything he can to MAGA. He is a great role model IMHO.
