I did.
I just added that spending a dime on that craphole is worthless. We’re never going there, so why explore it costing
tens of billions.

All jokes aside, I’m very interested in what they find geologically. I don’t think the Olympus Mons region is as old as they think. There are no meteor craters there. Also they should have sent a laboratory like this long ago. There has been to much time and money spent on the search for life. There ain’t none there.

...news conferences held today (Nov. 21).

As of that news conference, the spacecraft had traveled about 295 million miles (475 million kilometers) of the 301 million miles (484 million km) that will make up its total journey.

... its initial speed of 12,000 mph ....

Lessee: 5 days out, 12K mph  6,000,000 miles away...

5*24*12,000 = 1,440,000

OOOPS!!

I hope NASA's math is better than mine!!

A pair of tiny satellites that traveled with InSight, called Mars Cube One or MarCO, may ease the wait.

The two small companions carry test technology that, if all goes well, will relay signals from the lander straight back to Earth, bypassing the large Mars orbiters.

Two of them and they are called 'One'?

I guess NASA math IS different than mine!!

All the Mars landers have all had sound but since sound travels much much slower than light, it will be approximately 2,378 years before it reaches earth.

They want to see if the temp goes from cold to warm or the other way around.

Sounds like some of our GW 'scientists' have had some input here.

It has taken almost 7 months to get there. We will have to go a whole lot faster than that to send people to Mars. JMHO.

I bet they even have the far side of the moon on “Google Earth” (well - Google Moon) and you can fly around, zoom in on stuff, etc.

If you did, you would have WON!

Press the little Saturn button on the tool bar and you can select the Moon, or Mars, or...

You piqued my curiousity so I just HAD to look it up!

We’re never going there, so why explore it costing tens of billions.

Every cent of this money is STILL left right here on Earth.

Only a big chunk of metal and electronics are left on the moon.

We will have to go a whole lot faster than that to send people to Mars.

Why?

They'll have to STAY on Mars a lot longer than that before the launch window opens up to get BACK!
