“We don’t like what’s happening, and hopefully it’ll get straightened out,”

In other words not call us, you take care on your own problems.

“So what do you propose instead dear sergeant?”

I propose nothing to you. The day you called me a Nazi ended all civil discourse with me.

Choose your next words wisely.

Putin wants more than the bridge and Crimea...

And Secretary of State Mike Pompeo “The US condemns this aggressive Russian action. We call on Russia to return to Ukraine it’s vessels and detained crew members and to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty”.

I am sorry for whatever I said...

I hope Ukraine-skeptics can at the veey least admit that the Ukrainian people (regardless of how messed up their govt) deserve some semblance of sovereignty? And that Putin shouldn’t be allowed to call all the shots? That too many people have died in the East?

“Vlad’s poll ratings are in the pits.”

Really? What are his approval numbers?

Doubtful, though the neocons and EU types are pushing that. There were no problems with them at all until Hillary tried to launch a color revolution in Russia after the 2011 election, followed by the neo-nazi Nuland/McCain/Soros coup in Ukraine.
We have pushed NATO right up to the Russian border, finishing the project the back of a nazi coup/ Then we feign shock that we are starting to get a defensive reaction. We label that reaction “aggression”.

Besides, Crimea voted. It was a free vote and one of landslide proportions. Nobody serious questions the vote, but only their “right” to conduct it at all. The plan was that they had to submit to the Kiev kids. But here’s the thing about a coup. It is a complete departure from law, and nothing but brute force. When you do one, then everyone else has the -exact- same right to grab what they want. So by grabbing Kiev, you don’t automatically inherit everything the legitimate government owned before. You only have a right to what you can hold by force.

If the pussyhats and antifa seize DC by force someday, and congressmen and the President must flee for their lives, you think people in Texas must accept THAT as their new government because the capitol has fallen?

Besides, it’s government 101. If you build a bridge, and a hostile foreign leader swears to blow it up, you cannot let him sail underneath it where he can detonate some enormous bomb.

We are the only nation that would be that dense.

The solution is for the coup government to look at what they physically control right now, and call that a win. Time for them to accept that Crimea and a big swath of the east wants no part of their concept, and end their attempts to conquer those areas.
That would pretty much end the hostilities in an afternoon.

But the Kiev crowd cannot do that. All those unemployed Right Sector militias suddenly coming back into Kiev is nothing they are interested in.

It’s a mess. And there is no US interest on the eastern front.

Thanks for giving us the Putin-Russian propaganda line. Saves me the trouble of reading it at RT.

Jens Stoltenberg sure is acting like Ukraine is part of Nato.

It is not, neocons.

I completely agree with you that the Soros neo-cons and the US State Department are deeply upset with Putin because Putin won’t allow these perverts to go to Moscow and molest little boys.

Ok sport. The Kiev coup leaders were inspired by Jefferson, Monroe, and Madison. And if someone seizes the capitol by force, it is incumbent upon everyone in the nation to patriotically support them anyway.
And McCain, Nuland, Biden, Obama, the EU leadership and Soros were only seeking to free the oppressed.
And it was a widespread popular movement. That’s why they didn’t wait until the scheduled elections only a few months away and simply vote themselves in.

LOL

Putin is a neocon on steroids - yet his Holy Land meddling and empire building/restoration gets a pass from so many of you.

Double standards much?

That is not true, DesertRhino. There were problems before the meddling from all fronts: Soros, Putin, et al.

Ukraine (or likely the people of the Ukraine) are probably worried about a re-enactment of the Holodomor that USSR perpetrated on the Ukraine in the early 1930s.

That resulted in mass cannibalism - although they only brought a few hundred to trial over those charges.

From Wikipedia (but better documented elsewhere:

Evidence of widespread cannibalism was documented during the Holodomor.[25][49]

Survival was a moral as well as a physical struggle. A woman doctor wrote to a friend in June 1933 that she had not yet become a cannibal, but was “not sure that I shall not be one by the time my letter reaches you.” The good people died first. Those who refused to steal or to prostitute themselves died. Those who gave food to others died. Those who refused to eat corpses died. Those who refused to kill their fellow man died. Parents who resisted cannibalism died before their children did.[50]
