It really does not start with that. That grows out of an inability to accept the reality that we are all different; that people succeed or fail for a huge variety of different reasons, and the demagogues on the Left use their grievance mongering fantasies to turn people against each other by scape-goating the successful as being the cause of other people's problems.

Throw in the PC suppression of actual analysis of why some succeed & others fail--I mean relatively;--and the susceptible feel they must apologize for qualities, which once inspired positive behavior. It adds up to a systematic production of neurotic behavior.
