Though this sounds reasonable, it directly contradicts federal law, which expressly permits migrants to enter the U.S. anywhere.

On Nov. 9, President Trump issued a proclamation directing the Border Patrol to deny entry to all migrants, including those with legitimate asylum claims, unless they come through government portals where Border Patrol personnel are present to address their applications.

Since there is NO way to tell if there ARE any LAC's, keeping them out before they holler,"Olly olly oxen free!", insures that caravan members, INCLUDING those from MS-13 and embedded seriously sick folks are MEXICO's problem; not ours.

If the LAW was NOT followed; then something needs corrected.

If the ‘law’ is unclear; it needs clarification.

If Trump has been given incomplete knowledge of the entire Federal Record by his legal assistants; then they need to read a bit more.

Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act states plainly: “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Section 215(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act similarly states: “Unless otherwise ordered by  the President, it shall be unlawful for any alien to depart from or enter or attempt to depart from or enter the United States except under such reasonable rules, regulations, and orders, and subject to such limitations and exceptions as  the President may prescribe.”
