I am 80, and in my college days, the late 1950’s there were a lot of smart democrats, who were still good Americans.

That started to erode when our adult children were in college or higher education in the late 1970’s to mid 80’s.

Instead of eliminating about 1/3 of the college freshmen, who could not grasp/handle the reality of what was needed for a real degree. Also, they would not have been in college with the higher standards in previous decades.

The colleges basically became high schools for the first two years of college because the basics were not taught in high school. Programs that used to take 4 years to complete became 5-6 year programs.

This brought in tons of money to the colleges with the extra years added to many former 4 year degree programs.

Also, BS PC ism became rampant and made so many degrees worthless. Our older son labeled the new degrees, Instant Unemployment Degrees.

That has now deteriorated into PC Snowflake colleges which attract the lower IQ and low ambition people. The Dems have a breeding ground for their new voters in most of our colleges.

Many if not most of the Instant Unemployment Degree holders are now Democrats in some type of government employment to help the poor, illegals, druggies and dropouts.

Most but not all wonks are charmless. It is not the wonkiness that is the deciding factor.

“...Hirono says Democrats have a hard time “connecting” with voters because of how “smart” they are...”

IF they are so “smart”, why aren’t they SMART enough to know that their key to being elected is “connecting to voters”?

Instead, they do everything they can to “dumb down” the populace and depend on “freebies” and “lies” to get them into office.

Also, they seem to be too dumb to figure out why Trump was elected, and don’t see those who push him too far, fall to the wayside.

No...dems are NOT smart; otherwise REALITY would invade their “limitless” minds and they would perform their jobs of “serving the public” more than serving their wallet.

All of their “smartest people”, i.e. obama, hillary, etc, have been shown to be not so smart, and woefully dishonest. Those “socialists” who try and convince Americans that they are “the one we’ve been waiting for”, are not.

Lying daily, cheating on elections, and public display of “never-Trump” syndrome is a loser. “Smart people”, are NOT losers.

Maizy showed her ass during the Kavanaugh hearings, and that would be enough to extinguish the “ready for prime time” light on her IQ machine.
