Reports I read showed that they wanted gas taxes reduced, and wealth taxes reinstated. It’s the middle class against the rich.

A police car just drove past, with one of the persons inside waving a Yellow Vest as a banner. Are the Police deserting to the rioters? Did the rioters capture a police car?

Socialism is voted in by those ignorant enough to think it’ll work and or those greedy enough to think they are deserving of more than their neighbor. Then the bill arrives.

Exactly.

"Socialism only works until you run out of other people's money."

They are “citizen helpers” from what I read a few days ago. You mean the ones with the red arm bands along side the police, right?

I saw an ambulance doing this as well...I assumed they were waving the yellow vest as a flag to ensure safe passage through the protesters.

Amazon is a retail/delivery service. It doesn't create wealth. Once you get the item in hand there is no value added. The wealth(profit) created stays in the country where it was made, unfortunately more and more not the USA.

Microsoft is a software company, the makes a tangible product. Except for the H-1B indentured servants crushing wages, the wealth created stays in the USA.

Starbucks, sells a product, coffee. Unfortunately coffee and bananas do not grow in N.A. So I can see importing them.

Costco = retail = value added, no wealth creation at all.

Facebook is a product - software. I don't use it but many do.

One thing I notice right away is the protesters are not 20 somethings.

Some are now saying they are mercenaries hired by Macron because the police won’t touch the protesters.

“citizen helpers”

Yes, the guys with the red armbands.

“Citizen Helpers” eh? Like the American “posse comitatus” constabulary, or the Northern Irish “Special B Constables?” France's National Law, based on the Code Napoleon is so different from American Common Law.

Hired from where?

Some of the Gilets Jaunes are also using the F-word: FREXIT.

The Christmas tree lights just snapped on in Paris on the boulevard leading to the Arc. Interesting choice of all red lights they used which makes the whole street look like it is already on fire.

I can see this spiraling out of control real fast.

The axiom is the French vote their heart in the first round and vote their wallet in the second round.

The WSJ had an interesting take on the French voting system this past week.

LePen is not the answer, and Macron may be the last best hope?
He now appears to be toast.
