A man who ran for President of the United in 2004 will now be employed as an agent of the Chinese Communists.
Can this be for real?

Never trusted his loyalty to the US. This confirms it. One hopes that any clearances he ever had are terminated. Has he registered as a foreign agent?

Is a “lobyist” required to register as foreign agent? Foreign agent was my terminology. Maybe that does not fit the definition as a foreign agent, but in this position his loyalty would be to his employer.

And this eases national security concerns how, exactly?
Because a Demo rat politician is now on the payroll?

Apparently, ZTE thinks Lieberman’s influence is worth the money.

A national security assessment? What a hoot! He who pays the piper calls the tune.

Just give him a little time - maybe a year. Then he’ll either be a “consultant” for a foreign government or for a company that needs legislative favors.

In another time in movieland, this situation was succinctly described.
Don Corleone does Bonasera a favor. Don Xi Jinping now requires Joe 'Bonasera' Lieberman to 'do a service' for him.

ZTE could turn over their OS source code, firmware source and HDL to the NSA for review and it would still not satisfy national security concerns (ZTE could just change stuff in the factory for starters). Lieberman has no skills whatsoever (that I know of) so he’s going to do what?

Good to know they have a technical expert in there assessing possible risks.

Yep... That was my question too when I read the title. When did lieberman become a firmware diagnosis expert? If my memory serves me right, he barely understands how the internet works.
I feel much safer already... lol
